Safe to take 3 tylenols for a sore throat?

It hurts pretty bad..when I swallow anything. What will three do to me? Im planning on taking them all at once.

and all I have is tylenol...no other medicines

3 Tylenol one time is NOT going to put you on the liver transplant list... tylenol isn't good for your liver IF you abuse it. I have taken tylenol for everything my entire life (I'm allergic to Ibuprofen) and have no liver problems. Ibuprofen would probably work better because it has anti-inflamatory proporties which means it will decrease the swelling. I would reccomend that you try to drink a warm liquid, either tea, or warm jello water (just put 1/2 the cold water in and drink it warm it actually tastes pretty good). Have someone look down your throat with a flash light... if there are white spots back there you NEED to go to the doctor. Otherwise you can wait a couple days to see if it gets better before going to the doctor. Vitamin C is always a good idea. Take a hot shower and close the bathroom up to let the steam build up, sleep with a humidifier (if you can), don't worry about the tylenol.... if you are old enough (17) you can take 3. Just don't go crazy and take 3 every 4 hours. Try to stick with 2/3 every 5 hours and don't take it for more than a week without consulting the doc.

If all you have is Tylenol, I would take 2 max. I dont know about for you, but for me even 2 Tylenol can make me nauseus, so I would not reccomend taking three all at once. I had a bad experience doing that once for a sore throat and ended up getting sicker becuase I kept feeling like I had to throw up. I know you saidyou only have Tylenol, but if possible you could get some Advil and take three of those if the sore throat is really that bad. Thats what I take whenever I have a really bad throat infection. I think Advil is easier on the stomach. Good luck, and I hope you feel better.

What does the box say? Take two? Guess why!
If they are 500 milligrams, no. Still not a great idea if they are 325 milligrams.
Go over 4000 milligrams in a day and you could permanently damage your liver and end up on a transplant list.
Why don't you see a doctor? You could have a strep infection or mononucleosis, and end up infecting everyone else around you.
Oh- try gargling in tap water as hot as you can stand, with a teaspoon of salt added. That will help your throat.

DEFINITELY NOT!!!!!!! It could make you sicker and even a doctor wouldn't recomend it! If you think it is serious call a doctor immediately but try these first:
1 standard drinking glass of hot to warm water
1 teaspoon of cayenne powder
a couple pinches of salt for good measure (most people say its not necessary but it won’t hurt)
just gargle it but make sure to stir first.

or

take echinacea

or

gargle chamomile tea for 35 seconds and repeat 4 times.

No! Take ibuprofen instead. It will work better. Been there, done that! Tylenol is very bad for your liver if you don't take it exactly like it says on the bottle.

Never take more than the appropriate dosage on the back of the bottle. Go to your pharmacy and see if they have any throat lozenges there, too. And eat lots of Popsicles, and drink Gatorade to keep yourself hydrated. Hope you feel better!

Read the package, or better, call your pharmacist.
Best thing for a sore throat is vitamin C.
If you can stand the bitterness, suck on a 1000mg caplet.
Otherwise, dissolve one in warm water & gargle.
Tylenol will only kill the pain, not cure anything.

I take 3 tylenols for every ailment. you can buy the cool gel caps and they actually feel great going down

its bad cuz ur gonna feel like crap n feel very sick insted take one every 4 to six hours like it says on the bottle
