I use mircrowave oven with grill of brand sanyo. There is an option "kitchen timer" in the panel. No demonstrator here can explain us the usage of that option. Can any one help me to use that kitchen timer. What is it for?

The kitchen timer is a really helpful gadget...here's how it works: press the 'kitchen timer' button, and then put in however many minutes you want to time something for. It is independent of the microwave OVEN, in that the oven doesn't go on...it's just a free-standing timer device you can use to time something else you might be cooking elsewhere than in the microwave. The indicator runs down second by second just as it does when you're cooking in the microwave oven, and the chime or buzz signal will go off...just like any other kitchen timer. This is just an "added feature" for convenience...especially for people who have older regular cookstoves without a built-in timer.

I make use of mine all the time...especially when I have the timer set on my regular stove's oven, I can time another thing [like boiled eggs or veggies on my regular stovetop] by using the microwave "kitchen timer" feature.

Maybe you just never asked a woman.. if you are going to cook something in the oven how do you know when it is done? You set the oven timer for however many minutes it needs to cook and when it dings you take it out. The kitchen timer on the microwave is the same. If you don't have an oven timer, then you set the microwave timer.

I believe that the "kitchen timer" is just that, a timer. For example, if you are cooking something and it says to cook for 10 minutes then set the timer for 10 minutes and press start and it will start the countdown. Pretty simple. I could be wrong not knowing the exact functions of the Sanyo but I would think that's what it is. Good luck.

I would say a "kitchen timer" is just like a normal timer you would use for cooking...kind of like an alarm clock. So if you need to cook something for 10 minutes you would set the timer for 10 and an alarm would go off at the end of the time. I think that is all the "kitchen timer" is.

the microwave timer is there so when you cook say pop corn
and you want to cook it for three minutes you put it on three minutes and it will cook for only three minutes or say you need to stir the food every four minutes and then this will tell you when it is ready to be stired it will usually go ding ding!!

you can use it to time what you are cooking in it or you can time yourself doing things like cleaning your kitchen, or if theres a show you want to watch on tv.
