Not much at all. The Creation story makes up only a very small portion of the Bible, and it isn't a historical record anyway it is mythological. A myth is a religious legend, a legend is something passed on through oral tradition for hundreds of years until it is finally written down. A myth MIGHT be true, it might not be. If it was written by Adam or Eve, it would be a historical record, and if it was disproven then the Bible would have less credibility, but Moses' words about it are only mythological, hearsay if you will, and do not carry much weight or theological importance with me. Make no mistake, this does not mean the Creation story is wrong, it just means it is not a historical eyewitness account, and as such proving it wrong is not really a big step.

Well, the fact is we do not share a common ancestor with chimps. So, my belief in the bible remains.

In FACT, did you know that when certain scientists say that we share around 85% of chromosomes, they are only really including 3% of all the chromosomes? That's right, we share 85% of only 3% of all chromosomes. That's not very many.

Since there is not one scientific proof that we have chimpanzees as an ancestor, I'd say your question is moot. But it does spell out why most Americans consider evolution to be a religion.

So, the Bible remains what it always was; the most accurate archeological, historical, and theological record known to man.

Well according to the theory of evolution, we evolved from monkeys. When something evolved, the old thing in which it evolved from is changed and is no more. So the real question is.. why are monkeys still here? And if we have been here for millions of years then why is there not LOADS and LOADS of fossils, and data on this? There would be fossils all over the place confirming this fact.

With love through Christ Jesus,

I would think what I do now. Good to read. Very entertaining. Mens errors have found their way in. It even talks about the curse men who alter the book will endure. The Creator knew from the beginning that our little egos couldn't resist adding our own self righteous thoughts.

It wouldn't change my faith a whit.
I wasn't around when God created the universe. I have no idea how long it took Him (six terran diurnal units...or six rotations of the entire universe...hmmm)...and I have no idea what tools He may have used to achieve His purpose.
I'd be surprised, if anyone actually proved this...I honestly think that evolution is a mistake, but the point is, I don't know.
Neither does anyone else.
And that's the facts......;-p

Regardless of what facts there are about common simian ancestors... I would still think the bible is a collection of man-made writings that was cobbled together by people with a specific agenda.
