Food safety guidelines say that whole-muscle meat (like a steak) needs to be cooked to 140 degrees farenheit in order to kill foodborne bacteria...this means that steak is safe to eat anywhere from medium rare to well done.

My question is, how do YOU prefer your steak to be cooked?

That will depend on what type of steak it is. If Flank blade or chuck I will have it slowly braised or roasted.
Rump or tenderloin, fried med-rare.

But I have my brisket on now so it is too late for me to join you anyway.
Have a nice meal anyway

O.K., I've been eating steak for many years at barely past "mooing"...........I'm still here. My dad even used to eat raw hamburger with garlic salt.........guess that caught on too..........Steak Tartare is not on too many menus anymore, but when I see it, I always order it!
