You can use plain yogurt thinned out with milk to the consistency of b'milk.........no yogurt?? Just take whole milk and add a teaspoon of white vinegar to it and it will sour like b'milk......those are the tricks we used to use in culinary school......Best of luck!!!

Depending on how much buttermilk you need...in a measuring cup add nearly a cup of milk (less a few tablespoons) and add white vinegar to make a cup. Mix and let sit for a few minutes...makes a great substitute. I use it when i make my aunts yummy chocolate sheet cake! Good Luck!

Whenever my grandma ran out of buttermilk she would take regular milk and add some lemon juice or vinegar to it since buttermilk is like soured milk.

Use 1/4 cup white vinegar to 1 cup milk. Works good for cooking, but not for drinking. Kinda like using powdered milk, I would never drink it, but I will use it in recipes. Hope this works well for what ever you are making. I think it will. Good luck.

Just put a tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice for each cup of any kind of milk. stir and let sit for a minute or two...may look curdled, but that's O.K. Just use as you would buttermilk.
Happy baking!
