Let him know that he is making you very uncomfortable, you do not appreciate the attention, and that he IS married.
If you continues to hit on you after you have clearly stated this to him, avoid being around him. If you asks you why you're not around anymore, repeat the first paragraph.
As someone else stated, he is not a true friend if he is putting you into such a position.
And remember - not all guys take "hints." Be straightforward and tell him.

Some married guys just like to see if they still "got it". I find it tacky, but they think that other women are flattered. My husband would never do this. I would always ask him where his wife is, or what would she think or just disapprove of what he says as sometimes guys are just looking to get a reaction

leave him alone, he is married. he has his own life. Although he's an old friend, in the end you'll look just as guilty. And simply for respect out of his wife, just let him be, it's one less girl she may have to worry about.

I'd ask him if he's joking, or if he's being intentionally inappropriate. If you phrase it that way, he'll probably say he's joking but I believe he'll pick up on the fact that it makes you uncomfortable. Or, just tell him the way he talks to you is insulting and disrespectful and you'd like it to stop. It's not being mean to tell someone they're hurting you, it's just being truthful.

He's no friend, a friend wouldn't put you in that postition.
Tell him you are not interested, period. Tell him if he brings it up again, you are going right to his wife. Don't be nice about this, it makes you look like you like the attention.

Just be honest and tell him you enjoy his friendship and don't want to be the one to hurt his wife or the friendship the two of you have.
