find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

You are starting late but admitting you have a problem is the first thing. Eat less each day. Don't diet per se but cut each meal by 10% volume then 15% then 20%. Cut out 95% of sugar. Do not eat unhealthy snack s or junk food. Carrots, dipped in light dressing or oil and vinegar with salt make a great snack. drink 8 glasses of water a day. Start walking. Walk 1/4 of a mile and each 2nd day go further till you are walking 2-3 miles per day. That is 1.5 miles out and 1.5 miles back. Take water with you. Hungry eat a handful of almonds and throw in a few raisins. A nice mixed snack is to add coconut, while the calories are there if you only eat a small amount it will take your hunger away. Do not obsess over food. Try to have a buddy help you. Don't announce to the world you are going to do all these things to loose weight, Just do it. Eat lots of salads and use a oil and vinegar dressing. All the best and I bet in 30 days you can loose 10-12 lbs and keep it up at school and you will surprise yourself. Get away from the tv....do fun things outside, swim...etc

I know it is really frustrating because there are so many alleged ways to lose weight, yet many of them don't work. Whatever you do, don't go on a fast, liquid diet or diet pills. They make you sick and even if you lose weight, you gain in back plus some extra pounds. The best thing to do is to start working out. Start slow and ask people at the gym for advice. Or just start going on walks. I started with long walks and for the first two months I didn't notice anything and then it was like weight just started falling off of me! When you start getting active, it is easy to get discouraged because the results aren't immediate. But if you keep it up, you will become healthier and lose weight that will stay off. Try to eat more vegetables and grilled meats with less carbs and say no to fast food. It is hard, but don't get discouraged. If you accidentally lay around for a week and eat a few bigmacs, just get back on track. Don't let it make you give up (I've done that before and it just made it harder to get back into being healthy) Because of your age, you can get involved in school activites that keep you active and are fun and that will also help you lose weight. Stay strong and just keep telling yourself you will succeed and eventually you will.

Okay, well first the eating.
Talk to your mom and tell her that you are worried about your weright and would like to get some healthy snacks.
try different fruits and vegtables, and also you might not like this, but spinach. it is a great food read more about it here
http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=54669
eat more yogurt and
MILK!!! it helps shape your body
WATER!! it keeps your complextion clear and helps with bodily functions.
Okay, so if your family is having an unhealthy dinner, so what?
just take a smaller proportion! and you'll be fine
stray away from caffeine and fruit juices!
Exercise
start out with simple exercises.
maybe 12 crunches a day? one set when you wake up and one set befor you go to bed?
20 jumping jacks before each meal?
4 push-ups after each meal?
Have a jumprope? thats great exercise! (they are cheap, if you wnat to buy one!)
Lunges, maybe in between each TV commercial, or each break from the computer you can do 6 crunches?
you might want to try Namastate Yoga on FITtv
to help your stress levels decrease. you have to be patient with yourself
and ask a friend to help you, a fit friend, and they can encourage you

http://www.glamour.com/
http://www.self.com/
these have workout programs that you can chart your progress online
try to do 20 minutes of cardio 3 times a week
(jumping jacks for 2 minutes, run in place for 1:repeat until you reach 20 minutes.)
Also, if you are having friend problems, confront your frineds with these, and let go of your feelings through journaling!
(you need to have a clean mind, to start a new body!)
Remember this:
it is better to eat 2,000 calories than 200 calories.
if you eat at the right times during the day, and a healthy proportion you will be more prone to loose weight!
you said that nothing was working for you? well it was the same with me, but you have to let your body get used to all the exercising. give it three weeks until you start seeing some major results
Good Luck, keep striving!

Diet is the most important part of loosing weight. If anyone tells you differently they don't know what they're talking about. Try a high protein, low carb, moderate fat diet for 30 days. Stick to it and don't cheat. After 30 days you should be able to tell if that works for your body. Start doing cardio. Walking, jogging, running stairs, anything to get your heart rate up and a good sweat. Eliminate all sugars from your diet. Sweets, and soft drinks have to go. You can do it, just set your mind to it and don't let anything or anyone throw you off course.

I have lost a total of 120 pounds so far.
I lost 105 pounds in my first 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.
It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.
Also start counting your calories. Write them down. You would be amazed as to how much more aware you are of your caloric intake, if you actually write it down. We recently discovered a site that offers a great program that counts calories, as well as keeps track of everything. It allows multiple users, so everyone in the family can keep track. They offer a free 7 day trial, and so far I am very impressed with the product. Try the 7 days and see. It allows you to add the exercise that you do during the day, which increases the amount of calories you can take in. Very Cool!!

A sight with some really cool diet calculators and interesting calorie counting calculators is here. Check it out.

Stay motivated, and get up and walk every day. I seriously lost all my weight starting off my day on my walk.
Good LUCK!

Hi! I am an older woman, but I understand what is like to be too heavy. I lost 50 pounds a couple of years ago. I kept it off pretty well, but gained a few pounds last year. I just took off about 10 pounds. I found that watching the fat content in food was the key for me. If you eat less fat, you automatically cut calories! Also, I was really into colas. I switched to sugar free and lost 9 pounds in a couple of weeks. I like sugar free Dr. Thunder as it doesn't have such a terrible after taste. There are a million really delicious low fat foods out there! You have to be careful, tho. Just because something says low fat, doesn't mean it is! READ the package. It's hard to tell you exactly what to do, not knowing your habits and all, but if you write back, I can give you a lot of good ideas and delicious foods. Do you exercise at all? I think you can lose weight without overdoing exercise, if you develop good eating habits and think twice about your choices. Believe me, I know it isn't easy, but if you say to your self, "I have to lose this weight, I have no choice!" and believe it, you can do it. It feels fantastic to be able to tie my shoes, or climb a flight of stairs. Think of the extra weight as a 50 pound bag of dog food! You are carrying that bag of dog food everywhere that you go! Also, think about your ideal weight. If you are 5'5", it's different than if you are 5'10". Think about the kind of foods that you really like? I am a junk food junkie! So, that was really hard. I reward myself with a treat, (like Jack in the Box) for every ten pounds I lose. But, I have to be careful, because I gain weight really easy. Set your goal for your desired weight, choose a pair of pants or a dress that you want to wear(and be reasonable about that, maybe size 5 isn't right for you) and try it on every now and then. It feels great when you can actually wear it! Figure out your biggest weaknesses and focus on those. Potato chips? Sub a bag of 96% fat free popcorn (don't add salt as it makes you retain water). Cheese? Try fat free, and don't give up if you don't like the first one you try. Each brand is different and tastes different. Experiment. Candy? Yes, it's fat free, but SOOO much sugar! Just remember that you have to keep some fat in your diet, or your body will produce it. Junk food is a no no. Try the salads and Subway is fantatsic for dieting! Instead of a burger, get a BROILED chicken sandwich, and skip the dressing. Mustard is surprisingly good on junk food. I could go on for days and days, but I will tell you that it is really about making up your mind to do it and going ahead. Eating right is also a habit that you have to develop.Be careful to include lots of fruit and veges. And lots of water. If you have any health issues, you should talk to your doctor first. If you are really active, don't cut down so much that your body is deprived of the fuel it needs. I hope you have family support, because that makes a huge difference. Good luck!! I know that you can do it!

well actually i've been trying to lose weight myself. what seems to really work for me is to eat yogurt for breakfast, just one cup. it makes u lose ur stomache fat. i noticed results in a few weeks :). also i cut out as much fat as possible and replace them with things such as avacados becuas avacaods have good fat in them. also cut back on processed carbs and eat more things such as fruit and chicken/fish.
eating right really helps but exercise helps a lot. im not too big on exercising but my one friend did track and went down from a size 5 to a 0 and she doesnt diet or anything. so running helps a LOT!
i hope all this helps! keep me posted!!
