All fad diets do is make you lose water weight and muscle not fat and slow down your metabolism.
When you start eating normal again you gain it all back.
For diet to work you have to be able to follow it every day of your life.

Any diet that relies on a single food, or that cuts out a particular food group, is unhealthy and doomed to failure. The pounds will come off, but will quickly return and bring a few friends with them when you try to go back on a normal diet.
The grapefruit diet has been known to result in an allergy to grapefruit for many people.

My cousin tried it and she lost weight. However, after she stopped eating a diet consisting of grapefruit, she gained the weight back and then some. Diets are bad. Try making a lifestyle change... this way it is permanent and there's none of that going off the diet and gaining back the weight. Still eat grapefruit though... it's good for you and research shows that it might curb appetite. Instead of going on a grapfruit diet, try drinking 6oz of white grapefruit juice before a meal.

I wouldn't be surprised if it worked, grapefruits are clinically proven to speed up metabolism. An article I read said eating a grapefruit is the most effective; drinking grapefruit juice comes in as second-effective; taking grapefruit capsules is third-effective. Good luck!!!!!

fruit has a lot of sugar. all fruit diets are not good ideas.
plus, when you get off a retarded diet you gain all that weight back and plus more.
you're better off drinking a crapload of water and celery or something.

yeah, a friend of mine lost about 15 lbs. on it. But, because she didn't keep it up she gained it all back. You have to change your lifestyle to keep the weight off. Cardio and weights go a long way also.

Well, if you're trying to lose weight, an even better program is the raisin diet.
1st month , eat 1 raisin.
2nd month, 1 raisin
3rd month, ice cream sundae and 1 raisin.
This should help to lose a lot of weight in a short time frame.
