The first thing you should have done was to check the fuse/s supplying power to the dash lights.
You have a dash light dimmer switch. Did you check it? Does have power to it and if so does it have power leaving the other side of it? Did you check for power at the light bulb sockets?
When trouble shooting an automobile electrical problem, you have to have a plan.
1. Check the fuse pertaining to that circuit.
2. Check the switch that turns the light on and off.
3. Check the dimmer switch's action.
Whenever you find a place where you don't have power you have just passed the fault.
Why did you take the dash out? Did you make sure you reconnected ALL the wires including the ground wire?
BTW, you will need a volt meter or a trouble shooting light to check for power along the way. Good luck. Pops

Check your dash light fuse. If thats good there is a switch that dims and brightens the dash lights. See if thats all the way on. If it is check with a circuit tester to see if you have power going to the plugs for the bulbs.

The best thing to do is look in your owners manual and see what fuse is for your dash lights. Or you could pull each fuse one by one and look for a break in one. You may also have a bad dimmer switch or its not turned properly. Check your dimmer switch for opperation. It has a bulb on it and turns! Check this with headlights on at night it could solve your problems.

You can go to any auto parts store and pick up a fuse tester. Or lay it flat in your hand and look at the little piece of metal in the middle. You'll be able to tell if it is blown.

if you cant tell if the fuse is blown or not try just replacing it,with new bulbs in it they should work if not id be looking at a light switch that might be bad on it,good luck with it.

Usually that means a blown fuse. Not only that, it usually means that your tail lights are coming on either. change the fuse and it should turn the dashlights and the taillights on.
