You don't cook avocado. You can eat it several ways after removing the peel and pit.
1. Avocado is great in salads, just cut it up and eat it with tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, etc.
2. You can make it as a dip: Chop 1 avocado, combine with 1 chopped hardboiled egg (not the best for helping to lower cholesterol), 1 tsp oregano. Add salt and pepper as desired. Add 1 tsp lime juice to keep it from turning brown. Mix and it's great for a dip with chips (again not great for lowering cholesterol).
3. Or use it plainly as a spread (like butter) on toasted wheat bread.
Tip for picking avocado at the store: make sure it has a darker skin, and it's a little soft (it's ripe) to the touch. Pick the smaller and oval varieties, usually the Calavo brand. Don't pick the big, round, light green varieties.
Enjoy!

Avocado's are an acquired taste but they are good for you to eat. The contain Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids which do help lower your cholesterol. 'There is no need to cook the avocado you can simply cut the avocado in half, take out the large round pit and dig out the avocado with a spoon. You want to choose an avocado that is soft but yet has some firmness to it.

Yep, you can just cut it into slices and eat it up. Although it may lower cholesterol, it is high in calories and fat. You don't have to eat the entire avocado. For, example you can add slices to a salad. Also, I've never had to cook an avocado.

Cook and avocado? I don't think so! They're ripe when they're just soft to the touch. Cut a ripe one in half and twist! (Don't eat the large polite seed.)
A little lemon and salt make it even better!
Or remove the large seed and fill with salsa!
They are one of my favorite fruits!

No cooking. Cut it in half, peel the outside off and remove the pit. Put a little salt on it to bring out the flavor and it is delicious. But be careful-yes, it has good cholesterol, but it is very high in calories so don't over do it.

I've never heard of cooking one, unless it's in a panini. Just don't eat the skin or seed. It's really buttery and flavorful. I like a tad of Italian dressing on it, or in a salad.

I've never heard of it cooked! Just slice it and sprinkle on some lemon juice or oil and vinegar or put it on a sandwich or make guacamole. Be careful though-they are very fattening.
