Test for voltage from the battery first. Be sure the terminals are clean and tight. If the battery is well then you can check the solenoid then the starter. Get the vehicle onto jumper cables to another vehicle and see if it will kick over. If not start changing parts. You can have the battery and the starter checked at any auto parts place but you have to take them off the car and bring them in.

with that little info: turn on the headlights against a wall so you can see the reflection(or have somebody look at them) Turn the key. Do the lights stay bright or do they go out and no noise is heard from the starter? Battery. When was the last time it was changed? Average life is 5 years approx.

Sounds like that is the solenoid clicking without the starter motor turning. You probably need a new starter or the battery is bad. Auto Zone and Advance test starters and batteries. Bring them in and they have the machinery to test them.

The clicking that you hear is most likely the solenoid. Usually, it is because of low voltage. Try jumping or "boosting" it. If this doesn't work, check for a starter relay before the solenoid. If these are OK it's the solenoid or starter, most likely. With more information, I could help you more.
