Well Vicodin belongs in the Opiate family right along with Heroin and codeine. It can be highly addictive. Them more he snorts it the more he will want because the body develops a tolerance to it.

The affects on the body would be similar as taking it orally:
Do not use any other over-the-counter cough, cold, allergy, or pain medication without first asking your doctor or pharmacist. Acetaminophen is contained in many cold and pain medicines available over the counter. If you take certain products together you may accidentally take too much acetaminophen. Read the label of any other medicine you are using to see if it contains acetaminophen. Do not drink alcohol while you are taking Vicodin. Dangerous side effects or death can occur when alcohol is combined with hydrocodone. Check the label of any other medicines you take to be sure they do not contain alcohol.

Avoid using other medicines that make you sleepy (such as cold medicine, pain medication, muscle relaxers, and medicine for seizures, depression or anxiety). They can add to sleepiness caused by hydrocodone, which could result in extreme drowsiness or coma.
What are the possible side effects of Vicodin?
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

*

shallow breathing, slow heartbeat;
*

seizure (convulsions);
*

cold, clammy skin;
*

confusion;
*

severe weakness or dizziness; or
*

feeling light-headed, fainting.

Less serious side effects are more likely to occur, such as:

*

constipation;
*

urinating less than usual;
*

nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite;
*

dizziness, headache; or
*

itching.

Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
What other drugs will affect Vicodin?

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you are using any of the following drugs:

*

an MAO inhibitor such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), rasagiline (Azilect), selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam), or tranylcypromine (Parnate); or
*

antidepressants such as amitriptyline (Elavil, Etrafon), amoxapine (Ascendin), clomipramine (Anafranil), desipramine (Norpramin), imipramine (Janimine, Tofranil), nortriptyline (Pamelor), protriptyline (Vivactil), or trimipramine (Surmontil).

If you are using any of these drugs, you may not be able to use Vicodin, or you may need dosage adjustments or special tests during treatment.

There may be other drugs not listed that can affect Vicodin. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use. This includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor.

Snorting Vicodin

NOT ****, lol!! You're better off swallowing it, where you'll get a time released numbness. After some habitual use, though, you'll become dependent on it. I've been to rehab twice (for other drugs) and pain killers have the second worst detox I've seen, just under heroin. So, just be careful. To create the full effect, take 4 pills over the course of a day. Just don't do it too often. Keep in mind it's all gotta end some time- I've been sober almost a year now.

Snorting any kind of drug is one of the quickest ways to get high. It can cause severe erosion of your nasal passages over time. And, anytime you put anything up your nose or into your system any other way, you're risking brain damage, severe allergic reaction and a ton of other things.

If you care about your BF then do something to get him some help. If he won't listen, then get as far away as you can because addiction usually progresses. Right now it's occasionally and one drug. it won't be very long until he moves onto something worse.

Not interested in drug users. there are starving children all over the world and why should I be concerned with a snorting person. How selfish...

Tell him there's no point in snorting it, swallowing them has the same effect and the extra stuff they put in it (asprin, acetaminophen) is bad for your nose. I don't see how half or even 1 Vicodin could do anything though, I need 3 to get a good high and I'm only 118lbs.

it will effect you the same as swallowing it, except that it feels bad going into the nostril. It can damage his nasal passage. Among other things this type of behavior WILL lead to other drugs going up the nose. Believe me , I am a junkie from hell. Except for the fact that I am now 5 years clean/sober. It is a long walk back home after someone starts to do this kind of drug.
Im not gonna tell u dont do it, cuz I believe we all need to experience the things we got to experience. But please be careful and if you havent done it think alot about it before you do.

snorting shouldnt be a big problem. it really shouldnt damaging anything histologically speaking. only problem might be dependance. vicodin is pretty safe. dont forget, people take it all the time for pain management. just tell your boyfriend to stop before it becomes habitual.

Hahhahaa my room mate would take so much of that sh*t.

You basically become very dizzy. You might hallucinate, get a blurry vision. CONSTIPATION LOL. Also your heart rate might speed up.

Don't use it too much tho. Several months of continuous use and you're basically screwed.

The same as taking it orally....he will just get the "high" faster. He could damage his nasal passages though.
