It's entrapment.

I don't know about you but I've never seen a god, an angel or even a saint, before. To some extent, EVERYBODY is a hypocrite. Everybody tries. Everybody fails. FREE WILL isn't free if it costs us eternity to stray from GOD'S WILL.

God apparently learned this the hard way . . .

1.) God kicked Adam and Eve out of Eden for succumbing to temptation.

2.) Humanity was so wicked, God deluged the world with The Great Flood and wiped out all life except that on Noah's ark.

3.) Humanity made a comeback but came back just as wicked as before. Through Moses, God led his "chosen ones" out of Egyptian bondage with many awesome miracles. They thanked him by worshiping a golden calf. So he spelled out his laws to mankind -- in the form of the Ten Commandments.

4.) Then despite receipt of God's law, man continued his wicked ways unabated.

5.) God sent his only begotten son to atone for our sins.

We need God to forgive us for being created human?

Contrived!!

An Inuit hunter asked the local missionary priest: "If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?" "No," said the priest, "not if you did not know." "Then why," asked the Inuit earnestly, "did you tell me?"

Traveler: "God has been mighty good to your fields, Mr. Farmer."
Farmer: "You should have seen how he treated them when I wasn't around."

Man was predestined to have free will.

Philosophy is questions that may never be answered. Religion is answers that may never be questioned.

Christ died for our sins. Dare we make his martyrdom meaningless by not committing them? ~Jules Feiffer

I believe in God; I just don't trust anyone who works for him.

Christianity might be a good thing if anyone ever tried it. ~George Bernard Shaw

Doubt is not a pleasant state of mind, but certainty is absurd. ~Voltaire

My religiosity consists in a humble admiration of the infinitely superior spirit that reveals itself in the little that we, with our weak and transitory understanding, can comprehend of reality. Morality is of the highest importance - but for us, not for God. ~Albert Einstein

The wages of sin are death, but after they take the taxes out, it's more like a tired feeling, really.

The only real sin (or failure if you like) is rejecting God. God sent His only begotten Son in order to offer us an eternal communion or fellowship with God. Heaven is just a place where that eternal communion will occur. Hell is just a place for those who oppose that offered fellowship. Heaven is not the reward for seeking God; God Himself is the reward. All sins except rejecting God can be forgiven (although there is still a price to be paid).

Your concept of Free Will is completely off.

Free will does not mean exercise of will without consequence. Most people would readily agree that ideas and actions have consequence. If you disagree, go exercise your free will by running into a brick wall.

Free Will is freedom to exercise will and reap the reward or consequence of that choice.

I would also point out that you cannot accurately say that everybody is a hypocrite or that everybody tries. If you were to know this as a fact, you would have to possess infinite knowledge. You don't.

Only God does. Just because you lack knowledge or experience of something does not disprove it. Have you ever seen a quark?

Hello In order for Love to be Love it must have the power to say NO and as you have pointed out Adam and Eve did just that. Sin did NOT catch God off guard, God had His plan in place and was ready for the emergency. Yes we do try but we need to understand just what happened when we sinned, In John 1. Heb.13:8, Heb.1:5-9 We read that Jesus is God and in Genesis 3:15 we read that Jesus said He would come one day and end sin and satan, in Isaiah 53 we read it was Jesus that gave up His Divine body and became a man just like us [verse 2] and when Jesus went back to heaven He kept that Human body FOREVER, but He did something more. With His life He lived a perfect life, He offers salvation for our sins AND victory for our sins, He said in 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, AND to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Did you notice its GOD that forgives AND GOD that cleanses NOT us, salvation and the power to live a perfect life is a GIFT, we obey God as it says in John 14:15 "BECAUSE" we are saved NOT in order To be saved the ten commandments are commands of Love, the first four are the ways you love God the last six are the way we love each other, its not just about what we do but why.
