i want to get big muscles so does running prevent you from get bigger

No, your muscles do not get smaller nor do they really pump up either. I have a family member who runs marathons. These people are typically THIN looking.
Their bodies have lean muscle mass.

So it will not prevent you from getting bigger, but it will burn off fat to define your muscles.

If you want to get bigger, I would have a weight lifting regimen in place along with your running cardio exercise.

If you spend time running you will develop long lean muscles from the waist down. If you lift heavy weights you will develop more muscle mass.

So it's not exactly correct to say running prevents you from getting bigger, but the effects of running limit your pumping time.

Uhhh, no!!! Your muscles get tons bigger when you run, because you are building strength in your muscles, thereby making them bigger.

no it makes you bigger. i run and my muscles have gotten a lot bigger than they used to be!
