I have all ready packed chapstick and an extra pair of socks because those are the things I have forgotten every other time and really wanted!

What have you forgotten that you wished you had?

my own maxi pads I hate those HUGE ones the hospitals have.. they are ok for the few hours after you deliver and are bleeding REALLY heavy, but after that, they really aren't needed.. Oh and my own underwear... I bring a few pairs of hanes white briefs with me... they hold the pad in place well and are soo much better then those nasty mesh ones the hospital has for you to wear..

The only thing I'd wished I'd brought was extra pyjamas...I only brought 1 pair thinking it would be enough but I ended up staying in the hospital longer than I expected because my son had mild jaundice. I didn't want to wear the hospital gown after because of the flap opening in the back. I would suggest to bring 2 pairs of pyjamas..perferably darker colours....not white!!!

Also, I brought a nursing pillow (the half moon shaped ones) which was awesome. I used it during early labour to support my back & I used it to sleep on at night because I didn't like the hospital pillows. I noticed a lot of women brought theirs as well.

Definitely bring a camera & drinks...water & fruit juices and light snacks...granola bars etc.

Good luck!

Pads for the ride home. loose shoes or slippers because i had swollen feet. Loose underwear & my loosest maternity clothing. Bathrobe. Shampoo, facial soap.

Use the hospital gowns, birth and recovery can get messy!

Pack a couple things to bring baby home in...I brought the cutest little outfit, That was way too big for my tiny little baby (she could actually wear premie!). I suggest pj's to bring baby home in. Also bring socks for baby and if not opposed to it, bring a pacifier. The hospital actually didn't have any.

For BABY, make sure to have socks and those little mittens so they dont scratch their faces when they arent swaddled and also an outfit to go home with and an outfit if youre going to take hospital pictures.
For MOM, an outfit to go home in, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, and maybe some slippers. Oh yea and SNACKS!

Make sure that you take a nightgown that opens in the front for nursing. Also take plenty of underclothes and nursing pads if you need them. A cute outfit for the baby and a camera are also critical.
