I think that you should spay her after the Heat. It would be a better decision than during because during Heat it could cause your dog more pain.
Hope this helps

Not a good idea, and most vets don't like to do it because the uterus is larger than normal, and there's more blood loss. You should make the appointment ,though ,for about three months from now, when her uterus is back to normal size.Just watch that she doesn't get pregnant in the meantime. If you think that's already a possibility, then by all means, call your vet and have her done as soon as possible, while the puppies are still un- puppy - like. Most vets will spay a pregnant dog up until about three weeks into the pregnancy. After that,it's hard on the mother, for the same reasons an in - heat spay is.

Keeping her away from male dogs is the most important thing right now. Some vets would be willing to spay her now, but some prefer to wait a couple of weeks after she's out of heat to reduce the possibility of excess bleeding. Talk to your vet and ask what they think. Meanwhile, you can put a pair of boy's underwear on her upside down so you can poke her tail out the fly to keep some of her blood off the furniture. Good luck.

It would be best to wait until after her heat if finished. While she is in heat there is a danger of bleeding due to the increased blood supply in the uterus. Keep her confined and away from any other dogs. Then as soon as her heat if over, she can be spayed.

I worked at a veterinary hospital and yes, it is okay to spay a dog in heat. HOWEVER, vets are definitely not happy to spay dogs in heat as it is a lot more difficult and will charge you more. I would wait until after she goes out of heat.

Yes, you can and I just did have my female puppy spayed while she was in heat. My vet had no problem doing the surgery, he didn't charge me more, and she was fine after. In fact she was so fine she was up and playing the next day.

Pups in heat "can" be spayed while in season but it is very hard on them. many vets won't perform spay surgery with the dog in season unless there are extenuating circumstances.

No it makes the surgery more risky as she will be more vascular so she could have excessive bleeding. it is best to wait 2-4 weeks after she has stopped bleeding and it doesnt matter if a dog does get to her as it is still sfe to spey her as she would only be a cuple of weeks through her pregnancy but i would reccommend keeping her away from other dogs!
hope this helps!

Good for you :)
I'm not sure about spaying her while she's in heat, but as long as you keep her enclosed, you should be able to wait until after it's over, then you won't have to worry at all.
Good luck!

you can spay even though she is in heat, it will just cost a bit more but you dont want your puppy to have puppies so its a good idea to get her spayed asap!
