For some, the destruction of the Earth is something in science-fiction books and movies. But Peter, one of Jesus' twelve disciples, wrote about what will really happen someday: "The heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment" (2 Peter 3:10).
Some Bible teachers think that the Earth will be completely destroyed and a different earth will be made from scratch. But the Bible teaches us that while the Earth will be destroyed for a while, it will be restored. God will make the same old earth into the "New Earth," which will be better than it ever was!
Think about the Flood that happened during the time of Noah. Although the earth seemed "destroyed," it really wasn't. It continued to exist.
We know the Bible says our bodies will die, but God will bring the same bodies back to life in a much better condition. In the same way, the Earth will die, but God will bring it back in a much better condition. That will be the New Earth.
You could compare the Earth's future changes to that of a caterpillar. As you know, major changes happen to a caterpillar after it goes into a chrysalis. It comes out a new creature—a butterfly. It hasn't stopped existing. It's the same, yet transformed. And it's a real, lasting transformation. Though transformer action figures can be changed back and forth, the butterfly can't be changed back to a caterpillar (nor would it want to be). Likewise, the New Earth will never change back to the old Earth.
When God fashions this earth so that it's new again, we're going to live with him on it. Remember, Jesus is a carpenter. What do carpenters do? They make things, and they fix things that are broken. This earth is broken. It's far from perfect now, because of sin. But Jesus is going to fix it, just like he's going to fix us. We will be the same people made new, and we will live on the same earth made new.

All the righteous SHALL inherit the earth in this sense: God the Father is forever in heaven with all the heavenly host and ALL who are eternally "saved" and with the righteous who have lived and died. Then Jesus comes for the remaining who are on the earth that have been "born-again of the spirit" and who call Him Lord. That is called the "rapture" and this is the period of time when the Jews will then preach the gospel and realize that Jesus IS their Messiah for the first 3 and 1/2 years after the rapture during the "tribulation" period when the anti-Christ is in charge of much of the world's problems/solutions. Then it is my understanding there will be a 2nd rapture at "mid-trib" and then begins the period of the "great tribulation" where the anti-christ declares he IS god and destroys all people who do not submit to him and worship him and puts a "mark" in the forehead and won't let anyone buy or sell who will not take the 'mark' and "all hell breaks loose" then and those who didn't want God in their life will get a time of living without Him or without anyone praying for them or any goodness left on earth. There will be devastating wars and inihalations of people and cruelty and then for the climax of all this, read about this in 2 Peter chapter 3 for some details. Then after all this, the earth will be renewed and restored and Jesus will set up His kingdom on the earth with headquarters in Jerusalem and all His followers will return to earth and live 1,000 years during the Milenium period where there is no sin or death for them. They will raise families and do what they were purposed and gifted to do with all joy and happiness and peace with Jesus as King over his earthly kingdom.

In Revelation it states we will have a new heaven and new earth. Just because its destroyed or renewed does not mean it will exist, not exist and then exist again. I prefer to use the word renewed rather than destroyed. The word destruction could mean the passing of old things. Like not having seas anymore or the need for the sun, moon and stars since God is eternal light.
2 Peter 3:7, 10-11 - tells us that the heavens and earth which exist are kept in store by the same word, reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. The word "Fire" can mean many things such as God's presence, divine judgment, and purification. It is used as a means of destroying evil things. Even the Holy Spirit is spoken of as fire.
Heavenly does not mean we are going to heaven, but that heaven is coming to this earth. This is what we mean when we pray the Lord's Prayer, "Thy Kingdom come...in or on earth, as it is in heaven (Matt. 6:10).
So personally do not believe the earth will be annihilated and then created all over again but, well recycled at best.

The final expectation for a spirit-filled Believer is the new, transformed, redeemed world where God will dwell among His children in perfect holiness ( 2 Peter 3:13). To erase all traces of corruption / sin off the face of this earth God will have to destroy it. There will be a destruction of stars, galaxies. The stars will melt and the elements dissolve
( Isaiah 34:4; 2 Peter 3:7,10,12). The New Jerusalem already exists in heaven ( Galatians4:26 ); it will soon come to earth as the city of God ( Revelation chapter 21). Heaven is very real and so is hell. What we hold important on earth will be greatly accounted for in eternity.

people have different interpretations of most every verse of the bible based on preconceived ideas.
Perhaps the earth will be "renewed" ...perhaps hell is not a place of "fire!" but an internal torment.
I don't have all the answers, but what I believe makes me happy and ergo a better person. I will not try to convince anyone to believe anything but am interested in everyones ideas, firmly established or in the still seeking answers phase. (like me)

Because man starts wars the world was made to live in peace not war.man wants to rule the world and not obey God .God is the ruler of earth.Man has destroyed the earth with sin.Gods plan was for all the people of the world to love one another and to live in peace but it didn't work out that way.So man has to pay for his sins.

Yes, the earth was made for man and for man to be responsible manage it.
But as I see it, people had gone from bad to worse and worst.
That's why God already prepare Heaven and hell from the beginning of the world.

that goes perfectly with my argument.....if everyone that has died has gone to heaven or hell.....and we personally don't know which way they went....then why will there be a judgment day if everyone has already gotten their reward or punishment?
The answer is to yours....all mankind except for 144,000 are going to live on earth if they pass the final test. This does not include mankind that has died in a judgment period.
The answer to mine is....all mankind awaits a resurrection.

Please note the amount of nuclear weapons. Man has YET to create a weapon that he hasn't used in war.
there is a good chance man will do what he can to destroy it.
Zechariah 14 proclaims this.
God will create a new heaven and a new earth.
