The other day my cat woke me up screetching horrible noises and twitching and it couldnt walk right. I got him outside and he didn't come home for two days. His eyes are kinda spacey looking like he cant focus them or something and his hind legs are not working as well. He is an indoor/outdoor cat that goes out roughly one or twice a day. Any help would be nice. Thanks

It just had rabies vacs and everything recently. I put it outside because it was tearing up my house and knocking stuff over, then it just disappeared in less than a minute. Trust me, i love the little guy but if he's got something potentially harmful to ME, then outside is where he goes.

Do these symptoms sounds like rabies or something else? What could he be suffering from?

I mean geez people, it's a cat...there are hundreds of cats walking around where we live. Perhaps I should get health insurance for it too. LOL!

It sounds bad. Take him to a vet now!!!!!!!!! And stop letting him out!!! The worse place for a cat is outside.

The vets will do some blood work but they can't test for rabies without putting the cat down. But they are not likely to suggest that yet. The will quarentine him for at least a week and watch for other signs of rabies.

It doesn' t sound like rabies. But he definately has something neurologically wrong. He needs to be seen now!

Well, first of all, if my cat was acting that sick, I wouldn't of put it outside. The cat could of been having a seizure or something. Is your cat up-to-date on vaccinations including rabies? We need more info here.

He sounds more like he ingested poison. If you care at all about him you would take him in to be helped, this is a vet emergency. Rabies is a quiet disease and not usually found in cats.

If he's had the vaccination, it can't be rabies. But, it could be distemper or other dangerous feline diseases. Most feline diseases can't be caught by humans, so you're safe, but if you love him, get this cat to the vet right away.

Well, if he is current on all of his vaccinations, he can't have rabies. So, there is something else wrong with him. Take him to the vet.

I agree with the poison theory. No offence, but if either of my cats were doing that, i wouldn't waste time on the web, and get it to a vet!!
