Jesus, prove to me that Confession is a false teaching. Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition endorses this doctrine. See Matthew 18,18; John 20,22f.

Well, it's now "reconciliation" - and I don't think that is entirely proper. The old emphasis was on "absolution".

Ours still is, thanks be to God.

The community is also injured by the sin not just the penitent. Conversion is a life time process of turning away from habits of sin.

The emphases for Catholics are always in conversion not in saying your sins, not in the penance.
