That varies from credit union to credit union. My credit union gives loan officers the authority to approve up to a certain amount; anything over that amount, or if your FICO is borderline, then it would have to go to a loan committee. When I applied for a car loan, I was approved within 24 hours and funded the following day. I know of others who have had to wait a week or longer to get a credit decision.

I joined on and applied for the loan that day and was approved by the end of the day. Of course then I had to get all the papaerwork in order and that took a few days.
Depends on your credit whether you get approved or not, but I'm sure you know that :D

Any credit unions that I know of will let you apply for a loan as soon as you join.

Individual credit union policies may vary, but you can probably apply for a loan right away most times. It is not an instant approval thing though, so it may take a week or a month to be approved.

you probably have to wait a few days or even weeks after submitting your loan application to hear back from them. they sometimes have a loan committee that reviews applications one day a week.
