Satan does everything he possibly can to take people away from God. Its his full time job. And he works weekends too.

All these answers come from a blatantly xtian point of view. Now here's the Satanist point of view: NO, Satan does not control anyone. We control ourselves, just as xtians do. It just happens that we choose to put our faith in Satan as He is the true ruler on earth. Whatever power the xtian god once had has been bled away, mostly by his own followers. Satan did not convince me it was too late to choose god. I rejected god at an early age, and it was MY choice to do so. And frankly, I don't need saving from anyone, thank you!

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

yes, Satan does control people if they do not choose God. There are only 2 sides.....you have to choose and cannot sit on the fence in this one. God has more power but He give you the right to choose. When you choose Satan, he gives you no rights. God still loves you when you choose Satan and will continue to draw you to Him with His love.....the point is DRAW....not force. Satan's plan is to FORCE...and yes, blindness.

Satan cant control anyone..if he could, the whole world might not be saved? RIte? He is also not like God, Omni-present and know the hearts of men.
The only loop hole u can give satan place in your life is when u open your mouth and say it, especially in a non believer's life.Things like, " i am going to die like soso coz she has that diseases like my mum" or " God is aint true, he dont loves me"....Once you opened the door in your mouth and said it...well & you believe it to be true....thats the time satan can re-enforce that curse u had just put on yourself!
God said "Life & death is in the power of the toungue, and those who love it will eat of its fruits."
No, this is not the "blindness" Jesus that has come to reveal.

He can, if you allow him too!
Jesus came to "seek and to save those which are lost."
Yes, it is apart of that, of course! But, we are to seek HIM and we shall FIND HIM. Jesus warns us over and over about the cunning, liar satan is. How he mocks as he is only capable of mocking. How he will send thoughts to try and create doubts.
But, we are to "question" so that we are not found trapped in one of satan's snares!

When using too to express excess, as in too much, it gets two o's.
Think of it as having one o too many.
By the way, if Satan can do that you're saying he's more powerful than your god....

He controls the ignorant turning them into beasts of burden by laying a heavy sack full of his pranks and doctrines on their backs, and forcing them to ask foolish questions. A stick (rod) therefore, is for the back of fools.
