Do not quote me on this - but sometime ago I asked the same question? I can not remember the book that I read but it indicated that Jesus more or less dropped out of sight for this period of time. Not much is reported or known about his where abouts.
It is believed that he journeyed across land to the far east and meet with Buddha and perhaps some other leaders of that time before returning back home.
There should be some more information on this in the public library.

That's really interesting and I've always wondered about it myself. Since there isn't anything about it in the Bible, I imagine you could do some research about the culture during the time and place that he lived, but remember that things like history books are talking about people in general, not individuals, so it would be very difficult to get an accurate idea just from that. (If you don't get what I mean, imagine a book saying that Americans of our time love football. That may be true for many people, but there are lots of individuals who contradict that as well, so you couldn't make that judgment about one individual just from reading that.) I always imagine that he spent his life in the same manner that many people do (so as to not totally stand out and make a scene all the time), while at the same time reaching out to people and teaching them.

that's in the books that didn't make into the bible...

doing all kinds of kids stuff... but he was still Jesus...

there's a text where he's playing with some other kids and he makes a dove with mud and gives it life... There's another one where he changes the lenght of a bed that Joseph was making (it looks like he wasn´t a very good carpenter)

[Edit] I wonder wh I got thumbs down and the living la vida loca answer on thumbs up... not complaining, just curious...

I'm also kinda tired of reading "that's not for us mortals to know" is curiosity a sin? we're just trying to understand Jesus...

it is written in the bible.

And the Jews marveled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

John 7:15
King James Version

the Jews were amaze that Jesus knoweth letters. having never learned. Because the Jews they witness Jesus Christ childhood.

and he's a carpenter because his foster father Joseph was a carpenter

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

Mark 6:3
King James Version

Unfortunately, not a lot is known of His early life. The Bible just tells us that His family fled to Egypt when Herod began to kill all the new born male children. So, The best guess is that He grew up there and came back to His home after the danger has passed. I would think He was learning Carpenter skills and doing a lot of praying and talking to God. A great question. Thanks, and have a great day!!

no one does except the LOrd himself, and it's unimportant to our relationship and understanding of him. the bible is an outline for living, not in indepth history of every day in Christ's life or in anyone elses.God crams 5,000 yrs and his sons entire 3 year ministry for all mankind to come in 66 small books, pretty good condensed writting of thousands of ppeoples stories and thousands of years. So no, no one knows, and anyone who claims to know, is makaing things up as they go along. It's fine to wonder, I wonder on many things such as your question, but I'm not going to dwell on any of fthem, peiople are curious by nature, but somethings we have to take as that is all there is about that person or subject that where to know. i9n heaven, all your questions will be answered, we will understand all things the bible says. So if You know Jesus as your Lord and saviour, not by works, least any ;an should boast, but through grace, which is free to all who ask, and believe on the the only son of God, who died for all mans sins. all can do it, but few chose to accept him, and ask forgiveness, when that is done, than some day you will have your questions anwered in full by the Lord himself, you can't ask for bette than that can ;you.

I think that is the ages of 12 - 30.

It is obvious to me that either there was something in those years that the inventors of Christianity desired to hide

OR

The men who made up the man Jesus figured we wouldn't notice that he was mysteriously missing for the majority of his adult life!

The scripture I like for this question is Luke 2:52 KJV Bible. I have been wondering too.

There's nothing in the bible about it, but one of the books - at least one - that was voted out of inclusion in the bible discussed his teen and young adult years. I cannot remember which books those would be, or if they have been published outside of the bible.

My understanding is that he did some introspection about being the son of a god, traveled and studied to become a Rabbi.
