a lot of people use this term to refer to people who are against people of a certain religion. this can't be the proper term though because racism obviously refers to race, which is not the same thing. you can be a religious minority but an ethnic majority, and therefore not discriminated against because of 'race.'
what is the right word, if there is one, for "racism" in terms of religion?

i understand that jews are also considered a race, but not necessarilly. there are some converts to judaism. and jews aren't the only religious minority either.

Jews actually aren't a race, they're an ethnicity. Anyways, the reason people apply the term racist for people intolerant of other religions is because of ignorance. I still think one of the funniest things I ever heard was a girl saying to a fundamentalist Christian stirring up trouble with signs condemning racism and homosexuality as sins that he was "racist against gay people." She was a friend of mine, and I really felt embarassed for her sake. People just use "racist" as a catch-all term for anyone who is prejudiced. Of course discrimination against others for their religion or sexual orientation (or any other status such as that) is equally bad as racism, but it isn't the same thing. People just don't get it.

Most often the term "racist" is thrown out when the person using the term has no rational or logical argument based on facts to put forth.... so they attack the person with slander... a typical tactic of the Left.

If there is one, it gets passed up in favor of 'intolerance,' 'bigotry,' and other clichés in the vocabulary of the political correct. None of these is accurate, because they still aren't specific to religion.
I just say anti-Semitism, anti-Christianity, anti-Islam, etc. Just because someone hates a particular religious group doesn't mean they hate all other religions besides their own, so it isn't fair to say they are 100% religiously biased.

it is not fraudulent. in simple terms this week scientist pronounced that worldwide warming is commencing off to pass at warp velocity. i do no longer understand on the topic of the hereafter, yet right here on earth technological know-how has consistently been our one and in straightforward terms savior. technological know-how is unlike a food market aisle the place we %. and decide what to settle for and then dismiss something. Why the thumbs down? because of the fact conservatives can no longer face fact?

Bigotry. Religious intolerance. BTW, Jews are also a race- so in their situation, the word racism, or Anti-Semite would be appropriate.

Sectarianism is the term, not racist.
Mostly atheists and satanist are heavy sectarianists, not only a bunch of believers.

Ah, Yes, I have noticed that trend also. I, like you, think it is a bit wrong to label being against a religion as racist. personally, Perhaps, you should use the term ANTI-THEIST. For to be against someone who is of another religion or who is a theist.
