sorry but what the answerer's above dont seem to realise is that the peace in northern Ireland now is due to the majority outweighing the minority, in the old days the IRA and UVF had countless sympathisers and supporters, however them days have thankfully gone.
no longer are countries willing to give these people funding for training or weapons and even the old boys who carried out the fighting now want peace.
the way they have achieved this is through negotiation and talking, they have come to realise that years of war have got them nowhere at all and that the only way forward for the better is through peaceful negotiations.
no one can ever say they want start again but if i was a betting man my money would be on no, simply because the majority wont allow it to happen this time round.
the middle east is a boiling pot ten maybe even a hundred times bigger, and due to the interference of others will not be settled certainly in our lifetimes. the trouble is religion out there is on a higher level and if they think by killing twenty thirty innocents they can sit at allahs right hand they will do it.
im afraid patience is the only way forward in the middle east until these people see what they are doing to themselves and how pointless it is no amount of talks will ever solve the problem.

Not really- tthat would be an oversimplification of these issues far too lengthy to discuss sensibly here suffice to say that one was very geographic specific, whereas the other is mainly about oil and control of it.

Let's dissect the PR, spin, lies and propaganda. Afghanistan and Iraq have massive oil and gas deposits. Oil is running out- it's a race to see who can control it.
Saudi Arabia funds most Islamic terrorism- for what purpose?
Driving up the cost of oil perhaps especially in Iraq so the world's 2nd largest oil reserves don't come online soon?

what you mean where they KEEP saying they will do this this and that and then renege on it like the IRA has done for YEARS..............yeah lets see how that works out for you all.

and I am sorry but can NEVER truly believe that the Irish people will ever be able to be free of the IRA and all that brings sad but IMO the truth.........remember the Brits have seen them time and time again say they will stop the bombings

Let us first see if this so-called political settlement works. Until Ireland is one, it is not a success.

Edit: Francis F. do you live in the six? I am betting no.
