My friend has a guy friend who is in prison.He will get out in a few days and she has been writing him for the last year in the half he's been in prison and they've gotten close but are not together.She is trying to go to college and he wants to get out of prison and spend time with her first before asking her to be with him.My friend went out on a date with a guy who won't leave her alone and told him when he asked what was new with her he then blew up on her telling her how she's got all this drama and full of it and how wrong she was she told him she told the guy about him and he was still mad said it didn't matter.What's his problem they aren't together?

Wait - I'm confused - so she told the guy in prison that she went out on a date or she told the guy who she went out on a date with that she's been writing to a guy in prison?
The problem isn't the guy respecting the girl for telling the truth - the problem is your friend is interested in men she shouldn't be interested in. I don't care what he is in prison for - he's in PRISON!! How shallow is the dating pool where your friend lives?!!

If you start a "relationship" with someone in prison, he is only using you. She sounds like she wants a future, education wise. So I would tell her to leave him alone because if a guy like/loves you he will NOT disrespect you in any way. But I think he got upset because he is an angry person, who is controlling, and later on maybe abusive. Hint: he is in jail for what I’m sure is a felony charge. Tell her to know the facts about early warning signs of domestic abuse.

He might have respected her more if she told the truth before they went out, he spent money on her and thought he'd get something in return. He's thinking she used him. Besides that, he might be a little worried having been out with a convict's gf? Don't you watch TV, see movies, hear the news?
BTW, your friend has a lot more trouble than this guy.

The guy in prison sees your friend as his savior. She is his only connection to the outside world while he's locked up. I think that because of this, he has found himself attached to her, i wouldn't say that he's in love with her, he just depends on her. There's nothing wrong with being honest, especially if there are nos trings attached. It's better to come clean right away.

Basically it looks like you were just trying to make your date jealous and trying to cause unnecessary drama. So you telling the truth was kind of immature because what kind of response did you think that he was going to give you?
