And vegetarians consider it a sin to slaughter any animal. No, we cannot base our laws on such narrow concepts. The result would be similar to the 18th Amendment, which prohibited liquor. What happened was a huge black market, which involved bathtub gin and people drinking spirits which had not been made properly, or were not labeled at all, let alone accurately.

Think about it: do you really want a black market in meat? Really?

When we turn into a Hindu nation I guess we should. Would I cap a cow in front of a Hindu? No. I just hope someone doesn't try to eat my dog. I would hope that they would honor another's religious belief and try not to be offensive. But right now I'm not in New Delhi, and I don't live in a Hindu nation, so make mine rare.

I don't care what the Hindus believe, religious people in general frighten me, they have strange ideas, they all think people of other faiths are going to hell, and they all think people of other faiths are crazy, not realizing that their beliefs are kind of strange. Even worse is that they VOTE. I don't want a Hindu, xian, or Muslim, or jew, legislating whatever ancient tablet they pray to.

Onto the Cows, the world should have less cows, we should all be vegans, which is what we are meant to be. As much as I believe that, I would never try to legislate what others do with their cows, (as long as it's not over top torture)

Apparently opinions on Hindus are in short supply.

I say that we should Eat The Cows after treating them well, feeding them lots of grain and fresh water, giving them lots of space to roam and not inject them with a bunch of garbage that we wouldn't want in our own bodies. Organically raised cattle is mighty tasty!!
