The Rich young ruler came to Jesus and said" good sir, how is it that I may enter the kingdom of heaven?". Jesus replied; "no one is good, but the father alone".
As a matter of fact I read in the Bible someone asking why do the wicked prosper and Gods people suffer. And a comment to the effect, "his people perish for a lack of knowledge".
I belive that most Christians view God as a spiritual santa clause that will make all things better on their behalf just because they are Christians. This why we perish, instead of doing what we got to do to make things happen we just pray for them to happen.
The 3 types of people 1) those who make things happen
2) those who watch things happen
3) those who wonder what happened
To many times Christians are so aloof on the awesomeness of God they do not want to stop long enough to go get that job. Christians are like # 3- what happened? Why me Lord?

I am a pagan and a Witch, and I can honestly say that I have met a lot of very nice Christians. My next door neighbors are Baptists and I have a very large Triple Goddess painted on a big slab in my backyard, in their full view, and they have no problem with it. I think that the Fundamentalist Christians are wacko, but extremists of any religion can be considered wacko.
I do not, however, think that they are better than other people, whether religious or not. It depends totally on the person. Everyone is human, at least, everyone I KNOW is human!
I'm curious to see what the responses would be if you asked whether Witches are good people, same sort of question, but Witches instead of Christians...interesting thought.
Bright Blessings,

I know Christians that have good intentions and yet they have the personality of a rock...you know hard to get to know.
I believe it is the intention of the Holy Spirit to impart goodness to us, and I believe most Christians are in this catagory. Occasionaly we do get human from time to time and then we forget to ask forgiveness.
In the fellowship I am in for the last 6 years or so, I must say I have meet the most genuinely good, honest, least gossiping crowd of believers that I have ever worshiped with. If you gotta bug up your nose they will be there to pray for you faster than you can say "will you pray for me?"
hope this helps God Bless

I feel christians do just as many things wrong as non-believers. It doesnt matter what your religion is you cant base wether or not they are good on that. From personal experience I quit attending church because of how hypoctrytical everyone in the church was and have chosen to believe what i want to believe and i feel that i am more compassionate then ever they way i am now.

I'm a Christian who is involved in ministries, but I'm human. I hope that I'm a good person; I really try to be the person God made me to be, but I have bad days like everyone does. When I feel that I've had a bad day, maybe I caught myself "gossiping" or thinking bad thoughts about someone I know, I try to do more in the ministries I work in.

Are Christians good people? Most of the Christians I've encountered were good people, yes. Some were extraordinarily so. As for the fundamentalist cult...well, what you read off their tongues here on R&S paints a true picture.

Well, this isn't really a yes or no question. It SHOULD be, but it's not.
I've met "good" Christians, and I've also had experiences with "bad" Christians.
However, when a Christian is TRULY committed to Christianity (not just paying lip service to it to please their family, to fit in in society, or to go to heaven) they WILL be mostly good. They'll still screw up occasionally, perhaps, because no one's perfect, but they'll try VERY hard not to.
To be a Christian means to be Christ-like. And when a person is TRULY trying to be Christ-like...there is no comparison. It isn't just that they're "good." It's...well, for lack of a better word, they SHINE.

If they are true Christians they are 100 percent better than non believers. You would be amazed at what the Godless and the false religions are covering up in there homes and in there personal lives.

I would say that the christians for the most part are as good or bad as the rest of us. For as many christians who are caring there is an ahole. Same goes for atheists or Muslims. There are just allot of deluded christians. That doesn't make them bad people.

As a whole and generalizing I would say they break even, but barely. There are a lot of evil Christians with but a few good ones mixed in.
