They'll probably give you a court date. They might inform you by mail of through your probation officer. Then the judge determine your punishment for the violation.

If a warrant was issued, they will come looking for you. It may take a couple of days. If I were you, I would just call and ask if there is a warrant out for your arrest (you dont have to even let them know it's you calling, just ask if there is a warrant out for you by using your name-not saying "do you have a warrant out for me, my name is.....", and if so, then ask if you can come in on a specific day at a specific time to turn yourself in. When you turn yourself in, you will be booked and placed under arrest and locked up. But, you will be given a court date and bond is set. Usually, with you first violation, you won't serve time. They will generally continue your probation. (More fines and court costs of course.)
It may vary by state, but that is the general process.
From personal experience, (not myself, but my nephew), his probation officer didn't even violate him until his third time. I doubt that he would have done it then, but, he assaulted someone and that added to it. He was in jail for the assault, and then his p o decided to have him served with probation violation for the third dirty screen.
First step again, is to call and see if there is one.
Good luck,,,,

You will have a bench warrant written for your arrest. That means they will not actively seek you, but if you ever get a traffic ticket or anything like that when you encounter the law and they run your name they will take you into custody. If you turn yourself in it is totally up to the judge, but they will look upon you with some favour for "stepping up to the plate" They may hold you in jail or you can post bail until your arraignment...Please don't bail on your final arraignment hearing or you will be in trouble........

It will certainly save you an uncomfortable ride to the can in the back of a squad car. As for jail time, it will depend greatly on what your PO advises the judge to do. If you deserve it (as it sounds) then take your lumps and learn from it.

I've had a warrant for not paying a ticket and i'll tell you it wasn't an instantaneous sort of thing... it took them a few weeks to come looking for me so I wouldn't rush.

yes they will eventually look for you. if i was you, its better to show the judge that you are responsable, and turn your self in. you will likely get a brake from them , then if you piss them off and make them look for you. either way they will get you one day, and the longer it takes them the more it pisses them off. just turn yourself in, that always looks good on your record. you could serve time.but either way get it over with. and then move on with your life. its not fun looking over your shoulders all the time wondering if some one is looking for you. good luck
