I hear some people say that the reason why many religions exist is for some people to make money.
How can people make money with religions?

Churches earn a lot of money through offerings and tithing. Most of the money goes to the buildings and the staff, but a small percentage goes to help others.

Christian sell books, movies, clothing, etc. Other religious people sell their own stuff as well, but not to that degree!
Sometimes, when a festival is held, the economy of the hosting town is boosted. This happened in ancient times as well as today.
However, there are some religions where clergy doesn't earn money. There are also solitary religious people that study on their own and worship on their own as well. There's no money made that way!

Look at all the RICH televangelists, Benny Hinn, Joel Osteen etc. They did not get rich working a 9 to 5 job. They get rich by all the money people give to their t.v churches

One example is television preachers who convince gullible people that by donating to their ministry, they are saving their own souls. Sad.
