ok well.... i know some people say just go and find out but i cant wait! im going to Washington D.C and people were saying you should see the tomb of the unknown soilder its real cool when they change gaurds! they do it every 30 min! so how is it! and what do they do??

Oh, it is soooooooooo cool. They have a routine that they go thru for the change. Its been so long since I was there that I can't remember much.

I found this link that tells you all about the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and it has something about what the guard does, and even how the change of the guard happens.

They just go through a march and the old guards leave, the new guards take their place. There isn't much to it, but the ceremony of it is interesting.

One guard leaves. Another one comes on duty.
I don't think there is any ceremony, but I am not sure.
Have fun! I bet it'll be very cool.

Those soldiers who are being relieved go to spelling class where they learn how to handle such difficult words as "guards."
