I am so happy to read that you are going to the library. This is the first time i have seen this in one and a half years on yahoo. I think you should wear the shoes there . And place them under your table and walk around the library in your sock feet. Thank the lord. Somebody is still going to the library.

Well , Kyle I'm not much for shoes my self indoors so I hear ya . With that said I would wear the shoes into the building.... Less chance of the biddies at the desk nagging you.
Get your reading material and scope out a nice quiet reading cubical ...My library has those ! Even a table and chair in quiet corner will do. Now slip off your shoes while you read .... I cant see anybody objecting to that.
Anyhow they do sell those straps that go on your foot to make it look like you have sandals on but your really barefooted.

The local library requires that everybody wears shoes and a shirt because they also have educational programs for kids there, and it's not too sanitary to have people running barefoot.
Some university libraries will let you go barefoot, especially if they have lots of hippies, but it's still very gross to run around barefoot. What if somebody stepped on dog poo or on blood- you'll be walking all over it. Just wear flip-flops or crocks , if shoes bug you that much.

Probably not the library. No shoes, no shirt, no service type of thing. I'm thinking of having people take off their shoes before entering my house. I was talking with a friend of mine whose religion insists on this and some of the reasons made a lot sense from a point of cleanliness. We do pick up a lot of unpleasant things on the shoe bottoms.

They probably have a rule about that. Lots of public buildings and commercial buildings have rules requiring shoes, only because you could hurt yourself and they would be liable.
Why not wear a pair of sandals? Or Crocs?
You probably could get away with kicking off your shoes while you're sitting down. But if you walk around without them, someone is going to ask you to put them on or leave.

I'm barefoot all the time. I'll take my shoes off at the library. If they don't like it, they can just tell me and I'll put them back on. I couldn't care less. I'm naked sometimes and I've never gotten into trouble. Just don't do it in the wide open public where you will obviously be ratted on by some uptight person.

dont do that you could get something in your foot and it is not clean or nice to do that . I think you are expected to wear socks and shoes in a library or maybe sandals if you prefer . good luck .
