I would also like to hear other religions takes on the spiritual position of Neanderthals, Homo Erectus, and any other human species.

Homo is Latin for man or human being. Therefore H. neanderthalensis (Neanderthals) and H. erectus were as much human beings as we are today. There is substantial evidence Neanderthals buried their dead, in addition to evidince of both species having a form of language and complex social structures. They were clearly intelligent, but most likely not quite as intelligent as we who exist today are. So, at what point did God decide that humans should be infused with souls?

Most species of animals are extinct today that was created in the original beginning. Yet, we see white walking moneys that look like humans. It was in a rain forest special.
By National Geographic. The monkeys were very human looking.
We see gorillas and other very human looking animals.
to the point we made movies featuring monkeys taking over the world.
Plus these are pieces of bones they have put together to make a name for themselves. Look what I discovered a neanderthals man. Yea, Right!
HOw do we really know how they looked by a set of bones?
It is like a erector set, you take a pile of bones and make whatever you want. Maybe some of the bones are human but maybe some of the bones are not? How can you really be sure?

Neanderthal man and Cromagnum man were men who existed prior to Noah's flood.

The world was led to believe that these were men from millions of years ago. Yet that is untrue. These men looked the way they did because of how old they were. If you look in the book of Genesis, you will see that men lived to be close to 1000 years old prior to the great flood.

Scientists have discovered, that during the lifespan of a man, his bones grow from the time he is born to the time of his death. And some scientists believe there is even some growth after the body is in the grave.

So if we were to live 1000 years old, we would have people who look like Cromagnum and Neanderthal men.

The answer to the posted question. Yes, they did indeed have souls.

If there relatively have been neanderthals, then they might have initially, evolution is a theory and not truth. The hindrance is that some thing the modern-day theory is, it isn't TOTTALY right. It wishes to be corrected or multiplied on. This scripture shows a symbolic expression helping evolution. The serpent or snake started with legs and was once cursed to head on it's belly. Genesis 3:14 14And the LORD God said unto the serpent, due to the fact that thou hast executed this, thou artwork cursed specifically cattle, and above each beast of the discipline; upon thy stomach shalt thou go, and dirt shalt thou consume the entire days of thy life: Romans 1:20 For the invisible matters of him from the production of the arena are evidently visible, being understood by way of the things which might be made, even his everlasting vigor and Godhead; so that they are with out excuse:

I never heard that Homo Erectus buried their dead or had any consciousness of an afterlife. What makes you say they had souls?
As to Neandertals, they walk among us today. So yeah, they have human souls if only through interbreeding. But nobody claims that any protohuman had a soul until God breathed a Soul into human flesh.

Ever read Ecclesiastes 3:18 on?

18 I also thought, "As for men, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. 19 Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath [b] ; man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. 21 Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal [c] goes down into the earth?"

[b] or "spirit"

According to this translation the wisest man on earth considered/pondered (New International Version) man and animals to have the same breath/spirit.

Since all Homo Erectus and Neanderthal remains are 100% the same as human remains (albeit Neanderthals had arthritis and/or rickets), of course they had souls.

Genesis 2:7  And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

I believe what this verse says, we ARE "living souls"! We don't "have a soul".

GOD bless

Some of them don't believe in Neanderthals and Homo Erectus. It's all part of the 'vast evolution conspiracy'.
But they also think that The Flintstones is a documentary.

There are so many errors in the above answers in is both sad and funny.

Ecclesiastes came the closest so did the one that said all beasts have souls.
