Okay, I don't know if this has been asked before, but with a forum so huge, hasn't everything?
Okay, after observing this "forum" for about two days now, and having known a couple atheists, my questions are:
1) Why do most if not all atheists tend to be horribly miserable people?
and 2) Why do they make such efforts to destroy a Christian's faith - even Christian children's faith - and make them miserable like themselves?
I mean, sure, Christians tend to try to convert people, but it is, for the most part, with very good intentions. Don't the atheists see that they are crushing people's hope in efforts to share their misery?
So, maybe you don't see that God exists - and I won't get into that - but you gotta admit, Christianity gives people hope and joy. I know. And I wouldn't trade it for anything. Now, could you PLEASE leave the kids alone?

Here is the thing about most of those who call themselves "Atheists" on Yahoo Answers, they really are not "Atheists".
The real atheists I know would not waste their time discussing religion and they could care less what anyone thinks about religion.
The things that are most obvious about most of the "atheists" on Yahoo Answers is their lack of education and the fact that they are primarily Fear motivated.
Read the questions posted by "atheists", most are fear motivated about Hell, or looking stupid, losing money to a "bad" preacher, or something else people are afraid of. Fear motivations.
They are miserable because they are ignorant and afraid, the worst combination for a life.
The atheists I know in person tend to be much more normal, desire motivated, educated and could really care less about religion at all.
So it is not atheists, it is atheists on Yahoo Answers you are talking about.
PS: Read the answers by most "atheists", fear motivated denials because they do not want to look stupid, miserable and afraid.
The best way to look stupid, miserable and afraid is to deny that you are stupid, miserable and afraid. 'Nough Said.

"1) Why do most if not all atheists tend to be horribly miserable people?"...Ummmm jeez. A little biased are we? LOL. Maybe that is just a projection of yourself. Certainly you do not know every atheist in the entire world.
"2) Why do they make such efforts to destroy a Christian's faith - even Christian children's faith - and make them miserable like themselves?"...What kind of Christian would describe his faith as being weak enough to be destroyed? As far as children are concerned, they don't have faith. What they have is indoctrination. Children aren't born believing in any gods. Why should that change? And why are you so adamant about the idea of religious indoctrination leading to moral superiority? Life is a comedy to those who think and a tragedy to those who feel. I'm sorry for your loss.

1) In truth, atheists I've met tend to be the most liberated and happy people around. They are high spirited, motivated, and firmly grounded in reality. They don't easily fall prey to scams, nor do they see this life as something to "endure" until the afterlife. It's the theists I know who are often miserable, bemoaning life and wishing for their afterlife.
2) Just because something may be comforting doesn't mean it's true. It would certainly be comforting for a terminal cancer patient if the doctor lies and says "you're going to be fine." But is it moral to lie in such a way, to deny reality for false pretenses and comfort?
For many atheists reality is more compelling than delusion.
Also making people see reason is done with the best intentions as well. Atheists are generally more balanced and moral people. If an individual becomes atheist, they are statistically far less likely to engage in violence or crime (non-believers comprise about 14% of the US population according to the American Religious Identification Survey, but only take up 0.209% of the prison population, whereas theists dominate our prisons). An atheist is statistically 300X less likely to get an std, 70% less likely to become pregnant as a teen, significantly less likely to have abortion, and atheists have the lowest divorce rate of any religious group and are, on average (according to 39 out of 43 studies) significantly more intelligent and educated.
If an individual matures and become atheist, he/she will have a much healthier and moral lifestyle. Plus he/she will be educated and prepared to deal with the real world.

1: Here in England nearly everyone is an atheist and we're all quite happy, on the whole.
2: Most atheists don't care about religion - It's only a small self-selecting bunch of people who like to get online and argue about it.

Atheists I've encountered on R&S are one of the most intelligent groups represented. Don't mistake callous disdain for miserable. The only misery Atheists on this site experience is the constant whining from Christians that they are so "bashed" by Atheists. That gets really old, really quick. In my experience with Christianity - it is a giant Vallum with a Vodka chaser. It gives you a false sense of security and numbs you to the truth.

The hope and joy of credulity is empty and dangerous.
Funny #1 by the way.
To Douche Timothy with no email, I don't have faith my legs will work, I know they will. I observe it. It happens.
"You are never dedicated to do something you have complete confidence in. No one is fanatically shouting that the sun is going to rise tomorrow. They know it's going to rise tomorrow. When people are fanatically dedicated to political or religious faiths or any other kind of dogmas or goals, it's always because these dogmas or goals are in doubt."

Christianity may certainly provide people with hope and joy. But Christianity also preaches intolerance and impedes progress in science. Homosexuality should be punished by damnation according to Christianity. Also, 30% of high school science teachers don't even mention evolution because of the religious fanaticism of some parents. Finally, stem cell research, one of the most promising medical advances, receives no federal funding solely because of Christian beliefs about souls in embryos.

1) False premise. That's a bogus stereotype so it would be pointless to address it. (I'm pretty happy, by the way)
2) Faith is a BAD thing. I find faith to be detrimental & totally without redeeming value. Faith is not a valid epistemological procedure & should not be regarded as a trustworthy method of ascertaining the truth value in any claim or concept. Faith allows for baseless dogmatic certainty in the absence of & sometimes in spite of justification and reason.
Yes, yes, Christianity makes people happy. But as Carl Sagan once said: "For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring."

Faith is a bad thing? You operate on faith everyday. When you take a walk you have faith that your legs will work properly to get you where you are going, when you sit in a chair that it wont break with you in it, when you drive your car that you wont have a wreck. If you thought your legs wont work or your chair would break or you would have a wreck you probably wouldn't move.

Where do you get this nonsense from? And it's you that should leave the kids alone. How about not indoctrinating them from birth and giving them all the religious books at age 16 to decide for themselves. Within a generation your religion will be efectively wiped out-and you know it!!

1) That is your misguided assumption. Maybe a bad observation - most people don't know I'm atheist - but I'm educated, and I don't have this "god-hate" thing going on.
2) Once again, your premise is faulty, but if these ideas make you sleep better at night, then I guess I'll leave you be
