If it was my father, I'd welcome her to the family on their wedding day and do what most kids eventually do....ask for the car keys and hit her up for 20 bucks. As a joke of course and if she laughed about it, I'd like her all the more. If she didn't, I would never forget that she doesn't have a sense of humor and can't take a joke.

My dad won't ever divorce my mother. I happen to have the parents who are so in love with each other after 33 years it's intimidating. However, if my father outlived my mother and dated someone in the parameters you've set, I think I'd feel more sad than anything. I'd know that he had no intention of meeting a woman her age because he will never, EVER, think anyone compares to my mom. I'd be sad that that worked for the other woman, but I'd also hope with fingers painfully crossed that they found enough happiness with each other to carry the day.

If my father did divorce my mother, I'd have a lot of other things on my mind about the whole situation besides who he dated.

I would hope that she would be a decent human being and not a gold digger. I would hope she would be an educated woman, because my father is extremely intelligent and gets quickly bored with vapid conversation. I would want what was best for my father and what would make him the most happy. If I thought for ONE second that she was a useless piece of *ss I would let everyone know I thought so to their face with NO apologies.

But knowing my father, I know he wouldn't be swayed by a pretty face and perky boobs. (at least not for very long)

If the old man still has a kick in his step what he does in his private life is non of your business.Would you he rather date a teenager or announce he is gay. What 2 adults do is their business. If you wish to be a part of his life don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong. Is he happy? Why does that not factor into you "worries"?Some older men like younger women and so do some younger women like older men.
The only advice I can give you is that be much more closer to him so he would listen to you when you suggest a Prenup.Other than that wish them well.you never know. She might become your best friend

No one can tell where you find love. As long as she is with him genuinely and not for money then allow your father to be happy. My husband is 22 1/2 years older than me and we are now in our 13th year of marriage and are extremely happy. Love is not always the way we plan it. I never dated anyone older than me, this just happened. The main thing should be that you want to see your father happy before you worry about how it affects you!

Wouldn't bother me a bit. I dated a woman that was 16 years older than me and I was only 2 years older than her one daughter and 5 years older than her other. We all got along fine, they just wanted their Mom to be happy, like I hope you want your Dad to be.

my sis is married to a man that is 26yrs older than her. I know that its not the same as being the daughter of the man, but, my sis husband has a son who is only about 4yrs younger than her. Sis step son does not seem to mind that she is not much older than him. They get along great. We feel in this family that age is just a number (it doesnt matter) its how they treat you and your family that counts the most.

Unless she's underage, there's nothing you need to do about the situation. It's nothing to do with you and you don't want to alienate your dad from you, do you? I'd be happy if my dad found happiness with someone. Who says we have to approve of our parents choices as long as they are treated right and they are happy.

I'd wonder why you couldn't do better than an old man with at least one failed marriage.
