Mine was a total fake out.
He started by filling a room with balloons. Inside each one was a note that said a reason why he loved me or a special memory for us. A few said "kiss" and when I popped those I got a kiss. I was totaly expecting my ring at the end.
Instead he let me get all dissapointed (all the while pretending like I wasn't and was just really happy because of his romantic gesture) for a few hours. Then when I was taking a bath he tied the ring onto a rubber ducky and threw it in the shower and got on one knee.
He said he knew I couldn't say no naked. I said yes but I'm still peeved that he managed to fake me out like that.

create a puzzle. check this it might be kind cool:
Have a 2 peice puzzle.
one side of the puzzle has an arch drawn on it. have it set up that the arch when flipped up is the letter u and when flipped down is half of the letter M(which is made of arches like the lowercase "m" used in this message.so have have second half of the puzzle be a arc faced down next to the letter "e" when she put the two together it would be " U" complete "me" get it.

I knew a couple that liked to golf. He put the ring in the last hole. Personally, just a really heartfelt declaration of love makes all the difference. If you want to be semi-funny, walk into the shower fully clothed while she is in there and tell her you just can't wait.

I think a totally insane practical joke that ended in her somehow finding the ring would be great. Maybe put in a whoopie cushion or one of those fake barf things? That could be cute, in an off beat kinda way.

If you live in California take her to Disneyland. Talk to someone there im sure they can help you with a unique way to propose. I fyou dont live near disneyland any amusment park around your area will be nice. good luck and congratulations.

*** does she works in a high rise building ? if she does I would have a bunch of people in umbrellas or with signs to form the question, you can get the office involved by having them believe she is having the worst day at work and then she's called to a meeting with the boss and that's were she gets to view the question from above and then you're standing behind her @ her office.

Here is how i did it. I was coming back from a trip and she was picking me up at the airport. I gave everyone on the plane a red rose to give to her as they all got off. i was the last one off the plane and gave her a white rose got down on one knee and popped the question.

How about buying a sundae with no cherry on top, then giving it to her. Tell her that you are as incomplete without her as the sundae is without the cherry and ask her to marry you. Try baking a cake without the eggs, the flour, the chocolate, something that is incomplete because one main ingredient is missing. Just a thought.
