Ahh you are right, but the same statements could be said about some "Non-religious" individuals.
You are looking at the furthest extremes. Many people do not subscribe to ideas of using religion as a weapon or as a way to prove moral superiority to others.
But much like a number of christians, the "atheist", "agnostic" or "alternative religion" crowds also have people who attack for the sake of attacking and hate for the sake of hating. I answered a question about the pope's armored car, and why if he is not afraid of death does he ride around in it. the vast majority of the comments basically showed an unbridled hatred towards the pope and people of faith.
These users basically said the pope should be vulnerable to assassination. These are the same people who claim religion (Christianity in particular) breeds hatred and closed mindedness.
Do you see the ironic similarities?
I would say they are pretty blatant.
We as people need to stop using our differences as weapons and stop saying "because you believe that then I hate you."
If people actually started talking and accepting each others differences and stopped trying to control how others exist then maybe we could finally find some kind of civility.
But honestly I am too old of a monkey to imagine that happening any time soon.

I agree some are very close minded and I said some I'm Christian as well and I see those who preach the word until someone comes in with that very situation all of a sudden they are pointing the finger at them the bible says "Judge not lest ye be judged" also "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone". You should bring this up the next time someone is point to quick the finger. I wish Christian would get into the bible like it says. If someone thinks they are without sin they are clouded by their own desires and deceptions

Some Christians dotn follow that path because they feel they dont have to and what they're doing is enough. They get angry when you miss a day because for some that one day is the day they show they're religon. Because the world is a cruel place and it teaches many not to trust or to have hope... And you alos have to think that those fake people grew up in adifferent age then us. They're either stricter because of theyir strict youth or because...they jsut are lol.

here now a days church seems more like a cult then anything. my son was in a youth group at church going 5 days a week . he took one night off to go to the gym with my brother in law and the preacher gave a sermon on vanity and used my sons name . he basically said caring about muscles over weighed the love of the lord and my son picked his looks....we have not been back after a few choice words for the preacher..by the way my son was 12 at the time. in my opinion you can love and worship god right at home without all the drama of social clubs, because to me thats what is has become a social gatehring of freinds who compare who is wearing the best dress, its no longer about love , god and morality

This church sounds like a church of people that are Christians in name only and do not live their lives by the Word of God,they live for the world instead for God, in my opinion from your statement. I would find a different church

They are also manipulators!! My father is Atheist (even if he married Catholic) but his second wife and half sister, are going to church actively for few years, and the peoples from this church point at my father as he is not practicing their fate and even ask his wife, to divorce him because of this!!!
When he told me this, I say '' this world is finished, everybody brainwashed'' And I guess its getting worst with time, I do believed that it will only cause a major social conflict in a few years, peoples are just too much closed minded and manipulated. I guess its because we work too many hours, and have no time to think anymore...

I would suggest that you really pray to the Lord about showing you the church He wants you to be at and to serve Him in. There is a church for you out there. It may not be in a building. There are many Home Churches that you may connect with. God wants us to be in fellowship with other believers. To worship as a group. To have those Christian Brothers and Sisters to lean on. Not all churches will have that for you...
God will show you a church to attend, but first, pray and search for a good bible teaching church, go, plan to serve, and pray for those that go to that church even if they are the self righteous type. They are the ones missing God's blessings and time of true worship.
I will pray for your search, I know God will direct you to a good bible teaching Church. He only wants the best for you.

Not "close minded", straight and narrow minded.
Matt 7:14
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
