Cow tipping is a myth. I should know. i live in the middle of basically a giant cow (Nebraska)
If there were such a thing they would probably freak out for a bit, and then stand up.
It is a myth because cows weigh a little more than half a ton. the basic principles of science tell us that it would take a lot of mischievous teenagers to push over 1200 pounds of well balanced beef. The cows are used to sleeping standing up so they usually will just push back out of reflex. If one were to get that far though, the cow would most likely wake up before it fell over and start a stampede.

I heard of cow tipping since i was a young boy so as for it being a myth I doubt it. But they will slowly get back up once in the sitting poss ion using the front legs etc.

Cow Tipping is a myth. If you could tip one, it would injure it. ... And cows can and do lay down and get up. But to knock one over is another thing entirely.

Cows lay down all the time without being tipped. Every time a storm is coming the barometric pressure makes them want to lay down to get in a better position to release methane gas buildup (yes, to fart)

They cant, which is why people do it. Well, adult cows can't anyway, not without help.
