There are so many brands of air beds out there, I don't know which one to pick. I'm a college student and since I move every nine months I need everything I own to be portable. So the only idea I've come up with for a bed would be to get an inflatable one. But there are so many brands out there I don't know what would be comfortable for long-term use. I want a queen sized bed, preferably a raised one. Or would getting an air bed be a bad idea in the first place? Thanks in advance for everyone's input.

I have one of those Aerobeds (I think that's what it's called). They have them as just a mattress in a queen size for about $150 retail (look them up on eBay). They also have one with a raised mattress (like a regular bed) for more.

They're pretty cool. They take about five minutes to inflate with the built-in air pump. if the thing starts to deflate or you want to make the mattress firmer, you just flick on the air pump switch while you're lying on it. It also has about a 3-inch deflation valve that deflates the mattress in less than a minute.

Because of columns throughout the mattress, the mattress is pretty firm and it doesn't transfer motion as much as you would think. It's very comfortable, completely portable and, when deflated, fits in a bag half the size of a sleeping bag.
