I was raised to have my own faith and to tell people about it if they are interested, but NEVER to criticize the faith or lack of it which other people have.
Why the venom for those with religious faith exhibited by those without it?
If you don't want to be a Catholic, a Christian or a Jew, then don't be. The diatribes, venom, criticism and bigotry are uncalled for.
Who raised these people?

Solly, if you read my question which you refer to and if you were honest, you would admit that I was criticizing nobody, I merely was putting forth a hypothesis as to why there is a growing number of atheists in our country. Sorry you felt persecuted.

U mean like...."It takes a Community to raise a child"??? Don't U think that the World is a Huge Influence or is Hillary Wrong??? Just stop & think how many Today have been "Raised" (yes I'm being generous there) in only 1 Parent homes??? Then Compound the Problem by Taking God Out of Government & our Education System (Day Care) & Top it All Off with the O'l "Do Ur Own Thing" / "Blow Smoke Up Their A*S" to Improve their "Self Esteem" Movement (Don't Worry about their Failing Grades, We don't want them to Feel Bad in front of the other Kids)!!! So the "Recipe for FAILURE", is now being "Served"!!! John

They were probably raised by people with their own set of bigoted notions and prejudices. People tend to live their parents' scripts, so if Mom and Dad bash Catholics and hate Jews, that's what the child grows up learning to do.

I've heard little kids -- some less than 6 years old -- calling other people some terrible things and saying that they hate all (fill in the blank with the racial or religious slur of choice.) All I can figure is that they're learning it from parents, relatives, and the media.

Criticism is not always a bad thing. One may criticize even that which one loves. It can lead to improvement.

Unfortunately, there are religious people who seek to oppress others for not believing as they do and would force everyone to follow their beliefs if not checked. They demand respect for their own faith but have none for anyone else's. I believe in religious freedom, so I resent those people, and I think rightly so. I consciously seek to undermine their efforts to force everyone to abide by their religious doctrines. Let them believe what they will--but they do not have the right to tell others what they must believe.

I evaluate (others would disagree) that i'm a Christian, yet i does not criticise or belittle others religions, or loss of. To me, that is an un-Christian subject to do. people who do are forgetting the "do unto others, as you've gotten them do unto you." only undesirable manners. All anybody ought to do with the hateful rantings of others may be to ignore approximately it and forgive them. the countless american Christian classes that are being aired in Australia at latest are very nerve-racking to me; completely not only like the christian church homes I even have visited interior the previous, so I do exactly not watch any of them. i've got faith maximum religions are easily worshipping the comparable God, yet they are only following distinctive variations, yet i'm not attempting to transform anybody to my way of questioning the two. do not anticipate anybody to trust me, yet i don't think of i will visit Hell the two (choose lest you be judged). Please ignore suitable to the hurtful rudeness of others. It easily isn't needed, and that i'm particular this is totally un-Christian.

Good question.

I think most of the ones who are so rude and belittling are little teenagers. They can't write or spell. Their questions are not genuine and are just attacks on religious people.

School starts here July 30, so they will soon be back in class and things will get better here.

To answer the first part of your question, it would be the person's parents or other legal guardians.

To answer the second part of your question,Yahoo! Answers is an open forum where the only requirement is that you can connect to Yahoo! and type.

However, your thin veil of hypocrisy shows right through your own explanation - you said do not criticize anyone in your first sentence, then turn around and do exactly that in your second sentence. You negated your own argument in one breath.

I was raised by Christian parents.

TOUCHE!
Why the venom for those with no faith exhibited by those with faith? If you ask me, thats worse, as you allegedly are commanded by God not to act in this fashion, but do so regardless...

Sounds like you're defining Christianity. They raise their kids to criticize, undermine and belittle the religious faith of others.
