I met a guy at a club the other night and he told me that he was a pro hockey player and a couple of other people in the club seemed to know him so I thought he was telling the truth so I let him come back to my place and slept with him and I gave him my number. He never called me and I also found out that he lied and he isn't on team roster at all. Why would a guy do that? Do they even consider women's feelings at all?

That is so simple that even I know the answer. Look at from the guys' standpoint. They are rewarded for lying and punished for telling the truth. That is, by lying girls reward then with sex but if guys tells the truth girls punish then by denying them sex.

For example, suppose a guy tells the truth and says to a girl, "You are not good enough for a long term relationship, but you are okay for a one night stand", she is going to punish him by denying him sex. Or in your case, if the guy had told you the truth and said, "I work in the shipping department at Wal-Mart and I'd like a one-night stand with you" then you would not have rewarded him with sex.

In answer to you second question, of course guys care about your feeling. However, sex is more important to them than your feelings. Try an learn from this experience and stop being so gullible.

Why would a guy do that? To get some sex.

Do they even consider women's feelings at all? No.

The moral here is that it's often a poor idea to sleep with someone you don't yet know very well. If you routinely wait for X number of dates, or a momth, whatever, you'll have a better idea of who the man is, whether he's been honest with you, and whether he's only faking interest because he's sexually needy.

BTW, it's often not smart to sleep with a guy because he's a celebrity (whether it's as an athlete, musician, actor, whatever), but because you like him as a person. These men can get sex any old time and may value it very little.

So, lesson learned. Take your time in the future, and remember you're a valuable thing, not to be handed over to strangers who don't recognize that, or care. Right? Right.

Okay, heres a confession. My friends and I go out sometimes, and just to have fun and screw with people's heads, we'll make up stuff. Good example: I was at the bar with my friends, and I was talking to this girl. I randomly just decide to say "I really shouldn't be drinking. I'm on probation, and if I'm caught outside of the state of PA, I'll get arrested."

"What did you do?" she asked.

"You ever hear of vehicular manslaughter? Yeah, well some dude was pissin me off, so I just ran him down with my car. I played it off like an accident tho. It's cool." was my response.

She quickly walked away and didn't talk to me any more lol. Anyway, sometimes when out, guys just say ridiculous things to see how far they can go.

The real question is, did he tell you at any point that he was not a hockey player? If he did, he probably just said it originally to be funny with his friends. Any time my friends and I are drunk and messing with people, and we find a girl we are interested in, we would never keep the joke going. That's just wrong.

My assumption is that he never told you he was not a hockey player. I'm sorry that he's a jerk, and you have my sympathies; however, did you only sleep with him because you thought he was a hockey player? If so, you need to adjust how you choose your partners. I'm sorry if that sounds mean, but it is true.

he lied because he knew that there was no way that he would get someone to sleep with him just as he is. he probably feels badly about himself and so he lies to make himself look better. and it did work for him didn't it. now think about why you were willing to sleep with a guy that you thought was a pro hockey player on a one night stand? you have to protect your own feelings, only you can do that. go out and have fun but make sure you are not putting yourself in a potentially hurtful situation. be glad he was just a lier and not a murderer or rapist or mugger or stalker. ect, ect.

If your shallow enough to only sleep with a guy because he's a pro-hockey player, than you get what you got.

Pro-hockey or not, don't base who you sleep with on income. By the way, even pro-hockey guys have one-night stands!

Because it works and women believe them. You met a guy at a club and had sex with him that very night without knowing anything else about him. You gave him exactly what he wanted. What were you expecting?

If women stopped letting it happen and falling for it, men wouldn't do it.

How are you not equally responsible for this?

Because they can. Not all guys are like that, but your safest bet to not getting burnt like that is to not sleep with a guy until you are in a serious relationship and you know the guy really well. A guy that is willing to just go home and sleep with you so quickly is just looking for a one night of fun, so don't give into it so easily and you won't get hurt.

Not all guys are like that guy. Some are real men and don't feel a need to lie to get with a woman.

To answer your question, some guys are so insecure they don't think a woman will like them for who they are, so they make up stuff. Liars don't trust themselves; all they can do is take advantage of people and then abandon them.

Take your time about choosing your bed partner. If he likes you today enough to want to make love, he'll wait for you and not lie to get something for himself.

LOL. Maybe if you liked him for him instead of the fact that other people "seemed to know him"and the hockey player thing then it wouldn't matter.
Shallow is as shallow does!

Don't expect a relationship from someone you meet with in a bar and take home. lol
