We have an 05 should be the same truck or close1500 V6 auto Reg cab short bed. Put a 3" lift in front$115, install lift $100. $65.front end alignment 4" spring stack rear Hell/wig $225. install 1hr easy. Replaced the tires With 285X70X17 BF Goodrich AT/KO 17" On stock rims. Tire Kindom. Around $1000.The overall height turned to 6"height the truck looks like a 4x4 it is so cool looking. At a small amout of money. They make a 2" lift but why. The gas milage went up as the roll out on the larger tires change the power curve an holds it in gear longer before shifting.K&N drop infilter helped.Just some ideas went from a plan jane to a nice looker. This tr is silver black bumpers no chrome anything black stock rims. But will turn your head as it looks dirty ,mean. nasty.

If your gonna want bigger tires a leveling kit is a must it will raise the front level with the rear and allow more room for tires without rubbing in the front and it is technically not a lift kit.Running boards will give it a better look and give you some help climbing in with the bigger tires.Brush guard for the front and it should look pretty good. Also if you put bigger tires on it take it to the dealer to recalibrate your speedometer. Also if you have a low gear in your truck like a 4.10 ratio larger tires will help your fuel mileage not hurt it.Look in the glovebox it should say what the gear is on a tag the factory placed there.

depends alot on how much money you have to spend on making it "look" cool.
as for tires, if you are running 16 inch rims, you can go up to a 305/70r16 without any suspension modification or lift. those will fit fine, look good and lift the truck a little bit over a stock 265/75r16 (not sure if the 2000 1500 came with 16 inch rims???).

stay with the stock sized tires. As it has been stated in previous answers you will see a decrease in mileage if you go bigger, also your spedometer will not read correctly.
As for dress up stuff if it is looks you are after I would suggest a bug deflector (chrome), chrome door handle covers, chrome ventshades, chrome rocker panel molding, dual exhaust with you guessed it chrome tips, chrome bed rails, chrome third brake light cover, chrome nerf bars, and some polished aluminum aftermarket wheels.
Also you should put a tonneau cover on the truck if it does not already have one. You will see a very minimal gain but you WILL see a gain in gas mileage.

If you have deep pockets for gas then get bigger tires, you will get crap gas miles because the truck will have to work harder to turn the tires. If your all about looks then just get a slighly bigger tire that looks cool to you.
As far as other stuff go but a 4x4 mag and or talk to sombody who has done it allready.
Good luck.

as far as tires anything over 33's you will have rubbing issues when you turn the wheels if you dont lift the truck. could put dual exhaust on it. that is if its a V-8. if it isnt a V-8 dont go with a preformance muffler as it will sound like crap.
