The only kid I ever loved before I had kids was my little sister. I was 14 when she was born.
To be honest, I still pretty much hate other people's kids. They're loud and annoying. But everything my daughter does is adorable. lol. In my eyes, she can do no wrong.
And by the way...I pretty much hate being pregnant as well. I worried that I wouldn't love my baby because I wasn't all excited like the other moms. Well, not the case. She's my life.

It's understandable that some people just don't have the instinct to be mothers. I myself at a young age was very tomboyish and had no desire to have a family. I never played with dolls or even pretended to be a mommy. I was never around children until my sister gave birth, and still my desire was little or none. Children annoyed me and I had no idea how to interact with them. It all changed when I met my husband. My urge became stronger and stronger the longer we were married. As a wife..something was just missing. I knew then that I did have that desire to have a baby....it just took a while to surface. Now, I am a mother of two WONDERFUL children and have no resentment towards them whatsover. I would not change a thing. You may be the same way...it may surface before long and you too will make a wonderful mother. Good luck to you.

You kind of grow into your role as a mom. A lot of women aren't comfortable with the idea of being a mom so they relate that with not liking children. Also they can see the behavior of friends children and think this is how they all are.
But sometimes once you either carry the baby or hold it in your arms something clicks and you go into mom mode. It is something beautiful about giving birth to a child.
But again there are people that are not cut out to raise a child....I think you would know if you were one of them.

If you don't like children very much , then why would you want some of your own? maybe you just don't like other peoples children? And you would still love your own! I think you should have kids ONLY IF YOU WANT KIDS!! Don't have them just for the other person, you have to want them yourself too or you won't be happy about having one!!! you have to decide when time comes if you want kids or not?!!

I didn't like children before mine, and I still don't like children in general. I love my children, but the things you hate about children before will still be with you when they are born.

My husband was afraid of children and babies. He was so afraid of holding his niece...you thought he was afraid of dropping her. It was like he was frozen with fear. He didn't like the idea of poopie diapers, and screaming kids...
Anyway, after Carter was born...that all changed. He told me the other day...we should have started earlier...He is 42 and I am 37...Carter is 3. He is so cute with him....Carter is like his little shadow.
So...when it is your own kids...you will love them forever. Ofcourse there will be the moment when you think you hate your child, but it is only a moment...after all they are piece of you...
Good luck...hope this changes your mind about having kids!

I didn't think I wanted to kids either but once you hold your snuggly, warm, precious baby you realize that you are so blessed to be a parent. Being a mother, is a gift. Believe me when you have kids you will be happy! Good luck anyways =] Email me if you want to talk more...

I never wanted kids until I had them, and I was not crazy about kids. I never oohed and ahhhed, but when they are yours, first time you look at them...you can't help but love them with everything you are.
