Wow. Your boyfriend sounds like he has no idea of what behavior is absolutely inappropriate within the family circle. And he's got a record and can't support himself. I'd give this a good hard think, in your shoes.

But I'm not in your shoes, so I think the options are to sit down as a whole family--mom, brother & sister-in-law, you & boyfriend--and talk about what it would take for everyone to forgive him completely. If you all determine that it's unforgivable for any of you (especially your sister-in-law), then he needs to speak to an attorney to determine what charges she could press and whether they'd stick in court, and if they did, whether it would violate his probation.

He should also be seeking a cheap room to rent and perhaps an additional part-time job, so he can live on his own.

Good luck with it. I think you're going to need it.

Have you tried talking to your sister in law? Have you spoken to your brother in law?

And why would your boyfriend think that would be funny to send a vulgar email to your sister in law? I don't really see what's so funny about that. And then with his situation of being on probation, maybe your sister in law doesn't feel so safe in the house with him.

If you can't convince your mom, sister in law and/or brother that it was all a "joke" then it looks like your boyfriend has to leave the house, unless he wants to go to jail. Saying and doing certain things on the internet can be federal crimes (depending on the situation).

If this was my boyfriend I would be appalled at his actions, I think you have to evaluate your life, He's on probation He lives in your house free and clear, Whats wrong with you, don't you want better for yourself. Honey, take action , get rid of him and find your self someone who will respect you and take care of you the way you should be.
