Some cats are not as social or nice as others, so it all depends. At the very least, they'll take food from you, and from time to time they'll like to sit with you in the same room or on the same sofa. Sometimes cats that have been abused before will not want to be pet or be the most warm animals, but they'll want to at least be around you. Care for these ones very gently and don't take the fact they want to be alone sometimes personally.

The cats are really independent animals. The friendship between you and him needs time. You do not choose a cat for friend he choose you. when the time goes on he will show you his affection. And then you know how much he loves you.

Fun question! When a cat loves you, they can showing in several ways. They may "head bonk" you with their forehead which is like a kiss. This is different from when they stroke the side of their face against which is just "marking" you. Also, cats can gently pat your face with their paws as a way to show affection. My cat Merlin also makes "love eyes" at me. While looking at me, he half closes his eyes and gently blinks them while he's purring.
Have fun with your baby!

cats are pretty weird animals. For example, if they really love you, they might bite and scratch you. They can do this to each other as well. usually they run away right afterwards and then come back. But they also come to yu with there back up high, and rub their little face against you.

Well considering I don't think most Humans ever really fully understand love.....I am not sure our little feline friends do either.
The definitions of that word are too vast, highly variable and different that it would be tough to say.
I am sure you cat's care about you. That is much easier to determine.

Cat's don't really feel love the way we humans do. It's more like she's thinking "I want the big guy to rub me, so I'm gonna jump on his lap."

If they are affectionate toward you, that would be indication number 1. Its not hard to make a cat love you, as long as you feed it and show it love chances are it isnt going to hate you.

They don't run and hide from you ... they come up to you and either sit next to you or rub against you. Cats are very loving animals, given proper treatment.

When your cat will slowly get on your lap and try to lift your hand to pet it. then purring with their eyes closed is how they really show you they own you and will allow you to love them. I have had numerous cats in my 56 years and they are all different.

i know my cat loves me because he's willing to sit next to me and is comfortable with my company. When's he's scared he'll run to me too. when i come home from work he greets me at the door and sometimes i'll see him watch me drive away plus, he seems to "talk" to me a lot more than everyone in the house... i dont know if he's complaining or just saying hello. :) hopefully its more of a hello. haha.
