I recommend pre-marital counseling to ALL couples but I think it's especially helpful when you're young. You can either obtain this counseling through your pastor at a church or there are licensed marriage counselors that offer these services. The service is not meant to pick and poke at your r'ship but rather to talk about the serious commitment you're making and the ingredients it might take to create a successful marriage. If you have a great r'ship, then counseling just makes it better. If you're r'ship is a bit rocky, then counseling can show you that and provide tools to better your r'ship. Remember to always take time for each other. I realize it's difficult with a child but it's so important. Children learn their r'ship models from looking at their parents and how they interact and also how they prioritize. It's important for a child to see their parents making time for each other and fulfilling each other's needs. Goodluck and congratulations on getting married

My fiance will be 21 and i will be 20 just like you we'll be married in Oct. I can guarantee you many ppl will tell you you are too young. But that is up to you to decide really. If you know you are mature enough to handle marriage than that is great. Some of the things i've been told to consider is that first off, marriage does not fix problems, you'll still have the same problems as before you were married. Also, that happy, newlywed feeling won't last forever, you are going to have arguments and won't see eye to eye on everything, but you probably already knew that. Just keep communication a big part of the relationship and you'll be ok. And be willing to make sacrifices as well. As far as actual wedding planning, try theknot.com and brides.com. These will help you in how everything should work out, like budgets etc. Congrats, and go w your heart, you won't be making a wrong decision.

I was 20 and my husband was 21 when we got married. Good for you that you're getting married. The only advise I can give you is to be wise with your finances. I know that since you have a child you're probably more aware of that than I was at your age, but still I had to mention it. Also, just because your married doesnt mean you need to act all old and sour. Yes, you're married. Yes,you have a child. Yes, you have responsibilities. But that doesnt mean you have to stop being a young person. If you guys are silly, keep being silly. If you like to be spontaneous, keep doing it. That's one thing my husband and I never lost, but were critized a lot for. My family wanted me to act like a 40 year old lady with old lady clothes and just sit there and obey my husband when I got married. But my husband and I are not like that. We love to be silly. Whenever we have an argument if you can call it that it's always like "you're a dork" "No, you're a dork" "no, youre a dork" that kind of thing. We could never argue with each other over stupid things like if it was something huge. What's the point? Of course, every couple has those serious discussions or even arguments and we do to. You have to know when to be serious and when it's best just to let it go and get over it.

I know you guys will be great. Congratulations and good luck. And please be sure to get married with God's blessing.

I'll be 29 when I get married next summer; I'm not sorry to have waited so long, but if I had had the maturity to be in a serious relationship with a son at 21, I would have gotten married then, I imagine.

i replaced into 21 as quickly as I have been given married. I wasn't particular if i might ever discover anybody with the way my existence replaced into going so, i'm satisfied to be married and characteristic a greater physically powerful half. whilst somebody gets married relies upon on the form of man or woman they are, yet getting married till now 17-18 won't be a physically powerful thought.

I can't imagine getting married that young, but it may well be the right thing for you. My fiance and I will be 48 and 49 on our wedding, and it's the first time for both of us, so I'm not a good judge of young marriages. They certainly often work out well. Learn to be patient and forgiving of each other, talk a lot, about everything, don't take each other for granted, don't wonder what the other is thinking. Remember to keep doing special things for each other, and to be each other's biggest cheerleader and supporter. If you keep that bond strong, you can get through anything together. Best wishes to you both!

I was 22 when I got married. My husband was also 22.

Advice? About the wedding or married life?
For the wedding, stay within budget and do what you want not what everyone else wants.
For married life, pick your fights. Most of the stuff in life isn't worth fighting over. Also, do not do anything you wouldn't do if your spouse was standing right over your shoulder.

Communication and compromise are 2 key elements in marriage.

I was 28. Had two degrees and a career. Had first child at 30.
Advice for you - stay close to your extended family. With the two of you being so young, you are going to need LOTS of help and support.
