I need help. I always wanted to be a doctor, but recently I've decided I want to be able to live my life and not spend 12 years in schooling. But anways I was wondering if a pharmacist out there could give me an actuall amount of what they make and where they live. Also, whats the best pharmacy school out there and are there any advanced pharmacy programs?

Only about 100 schools offer PharmD degrees.
In terms of actual education, prepharmacy can take 2-4 years. The length depends on whether you get a BS or not. Pharmacy is a 4 year program. As an option, there are residencies and fellowships, and their length vary. In Pharmacy, no one care about what school you went to. Average starting salary in the Chicago area for retail is about 100k, and average for hospital is about 90k.

to become a radiologist you only need about 2 or 3 years of schooling in the program. if you want to specialize in mri or ultrasound about 2 more. as for pharmacy i think the schooling is 8 + years. to just work in a pharmacy not be the pharmacist the school is easy. but if you are not THE PHARMACIST you don't make great money.

Pharmacists in the NJ/NY area make anywhere from $80k to $100k. They do not have a fixed 9-5 jobs. Schedules vary by the day. A lot of colleges offer pharmacy courses.

To me, a pharmacist's life is boring. They dispense meds day and night. And with all the chains forming, they can get transferred from one to the other. I doubt the pay is good. Have you ever met a cheerful pharmacist? There are a lot of other good medical positions. What about a radiologist? Or a psychiatric nurse practitioner? Look for other options. Good luck!
