Test? Hmmmm. I don't see it that way.
If you give an artist a lump of clay, does he see that as a test or as a challenge to make a wonderful, beautiful work of art sculpture?
I see "all of this" as being a challenge. Is that the same as a test?
The way I see it, God made us all His children because His love couldn't be contained. He made people and the world and gave us one command: Love one another.
God gave us life, and life is growth: it is never stagnation. So we have the God-given gift of life and the choice of either loving each other the way Jesus told us, or ignoring it all and being selfish and cowardly.
Maybe we are given life as a chance to grow, to become, to learn more and more about love as we grow up.
So you can either leave your clay in a lump because you're too scared or lazy or whatever to sculpt it, or you can start cutting and pruning and shaping it into something beautiful.

Pumpkin, you're here on probation. Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come
and years approach when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them" ... When man goes to his eternal home .......and dust returns to the ground it came from....and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

I guess... the problem is god is outside of time, so he knew the result before we made it happen (or something weird like that)
Apparently god likes suffering, because thats what most people have experienced

If God is real, it means this is all just one big joke and we're the butt of it.

I think about it more like a journey. Something you live and grow through as it's happening.
