I have a 2003 Grand Am SE 4-door 2.2l. I was driving back home for lunch today and when I turned on the blinkers to turn on my street I heard a real fast buzz and the blinkers didnt come on. When I got home I checked the fuses and they are all fine. The blinkers and hazard lights dont work but the headlights do work. Anyone have an idea of what could be the problem? Thanks in advance

A fairly common problem on these is the flasher burning out. Unfortunately it is part of the hazard switch and the switch must be replaced to renew it. Try operating the hazard switch several times and see if you can get the signals to work. If playing with the hazard switch makes the turn signals work (even a little), then the hazard switch is burnt and will need replaced.

Try replacing, or at least having the proper and full diagnosis done, of the 4 way flasher switch. It acts as a relay. This is a very common problem with the Grand Am. This is the button on the dash, above the vents and the radio, with the red triangle. About 50 dollars Cdn from the dealer.

It sounds like the hazard/turn flasher has burnt out. They are all located in the hazard switch that sits on the dash. They just pop out of the dash. To be sure, check the wiring when you remove it as it could be a circuit problem from elsewhere. Good luck.

I have an 03 Grand Am and had a similar issue. The dealer replaced my turn signal switch under warranty.
