What can we do about the trolls and clones that appear to have invaded R&S? It's getting ridiculous, don't you agree?

I can only think of two things: Ignore them and/or report them.
By responding even in a non-threatened, witty manner, they're still getting what they want which is a response. Sure they prefer to annoy people but the more answers the better (for them).
I'm sure they'll never go away, but like fleas on a healthy cat, they won't prosper if they're not able to get sweet-tasting blood to suck.

First, read the Guidelines for this site (link, bottom of page).
Notice it tells you what to do: Report them for abuse of the site.
As the Internet saying goes, Never feed the trolls.
Don't respond, but RAMO: Report And Move On.

About all you can do is report them. But not every time you see them or that gets you deleted for abusing the report feature.
Ignoring their questions helps but too many answer them and it's the attention they crave.

Yep, but it is summertime clone, and I am hoping many of them, like yourself, will retreat to their bridges when middle school is back in session.

Yes it is. If I recognize them I will not answer the questions. By giving them attention it just makes them come back for more.

i really just ignore them. they'll just keep coming back if you get them deleted cause then they know someone's paying attention to them
