I live in KY and she lives in TX. We transfered it in KY and got everything notarized. She takes the papers to get everything finalized in TX and the Clerk told her they need a copy of my drivers license. Why would they need a copy of my drivers license?

They need to make sure you are who you say you are. It is a form of ID. They probably don't trust the notary because he/she isn't licensed in their state.

Are you a fugitive? If not. send a copy of the license. Or, have your sister find out why and ask her. Offhand, I'd say they just require a form of ID from the seller.

The DMV may need it to verify ownership. Have your sister ask ahead of time, then, ask if you can fax it to the office directly to avoid the dangers of identity theft.

Possibly for tax purposes. If you did not "gift" it to her and put it in writing, there may be a fee. But why guess, ask her to find out.
